Bar Boulud tasting table?
Can anyone fill me in on the details of the tasting table and how it works? I know its a communal table but can you order from the regular menu or is it a set tasting menu there? Any details appreciated.
Thanks!

Blue Ribbon
Is it still pretty good? How hard is it to get a table for 2 on a Friday. Looking for somewhere good and casual for next Friday night (the 30th). I've been craving a good steak tartare.

for next Friday night
LOL, I know that is tough. H & I used to be big foodies, went everywhere, then had kids and moved to the burbs and I'm so out of the loop these days on what is good.
Taking H into the city next Friday for his bday.
Was thinking of trying to get a res at some of the old haunts like Casa Mono (is it still good?) or strip house.
So, downtown (anywhere below 23rd except the financial district)
not too expensive....under $200 for the 2 of us with wine
good food...doesn't have to be mind blowing but really good would be great
any kind of food, not picky, love almost anything.
What about cookshop or red cat
any great newer places?
thanks so much in advance!

Paris Food Walks?
I really wanted to do a walk with Wendy Lyn but we couldn't fit it in. But I must say that in emailing back and forth with her she was incredibly nice and helpful.
Thank you! Passage 53 review
I had to come in and thank you all for the rec for Passage 53. We went there Saturday night and it blew me and my husband away. It was the best meal of my life.
There were only 8 tables that night. The service was warm, friendly and attentive. The waiter and sommelier were wonderful and the sommelier gave us absolutely fantastic wines.
Here is the course list, sorry for any misspellings! My husband was typing them into his blackberry as the waiter explained them and we may have misheard a few things.
Relute of fresh peas with a pea skin ice cream - amazing...so delicious and fresh
Shaved Fois Gras on a chilled melon jelly with thin apple sticks and white fennel
Raw oysters (didn't catch the variety..sounded like donde volle) with haddock mousse, spanish beluga caviar and mashed apple - this was my fav, I cannot explain how amazing it was. I will dream about that haddock mousse.
Calamari quickly grilled over cauliflower cream & fresh cauliflower
Langostines with gaspacho
Filet of Turbot with seasonal veggies and herbs in a shellfish sauce
Fois Gras with wild strawberries and hot rhubarb sauce
Slow cooked piglet in ginger sauce with white asparagus and onion with horseradish sauce
lamb filet mignon with roast potato, cabbage, parsley mousse and anchovy sauce
Desserts:
pink grapefruit (kind of a mash in a sweet sugar crust) with pink grapefruit sorbet
strawberries with lemongrass cream (the best...omg, I wanted to steal everyone else's in the restaurant)
cherries with almond cream and fresh almonds and bougainville petals
passionfruit pudding with milk chocolate top
dark chocolate mousse type cake with orange marmalade
The meal was filling but it was the perfect amount of food. I did not feel over full like I did at Per Se. All in all a perfect meal. I cannot wait to go back.

Help with 2 meals in Paris in June
Thanks for the tip Nancy...we switched the hip vs. classic nights...going with Passage 53 as the more hip place.
Is the food good at L'Angle or just so so?
Help with 2 meals in Paris in June
Thanks so much for the response. Right now we have a res at L'Angle du faubourg for Friday and Passage 53 for Saturday.
We might try to swap L'Angle for Septime though.
I will also check out the other suggestions. Thank you!
Help with 2 meals in Paris in June
I've honestly tried reading a ton on here and feel completely overwhelmed. I haven't been to Paris in over 10 years. A lot of the top restaurants written about here are well over 100 euro per person for dinner. I've spent so much time reading posts and then cross referencing searches, looking at menus, trying to find prices. Everyone here seems incredibly knowledgeable and that is intimidating.
I'm sorry that the generalities were a problem. I thought it would give people more room to suggest places they love.
Help with 2 meals in Paris in June
Hi,
My husband and I are looking for help for 2 meals in Paris in June. Friday night we're looking for something hip, cool, something the locals are loving. Should be french mainly but certainly open to French with any influence. Nothing crazy expensive but mid range is good. Neighborhood doesn't matter. Was just reading about Septime and that looks interesting.
Saturday we're looking for something more elegant, more classically French. Under 100 euro per person (and that doesn't have to include wine). Something elegant, fantastic, looking for really incredible food. We were thinking maybe L'Angle du Faubourg...is this a good choice or do people have better ones?
Thanks so much.
Paris-Something like Frenchie?
We're going to be in Paris in mid-June, a Thurs-Sun. We're staying on the Ile St Louis. Thinking 1st night, local bistro on the Ile. Friday night, we're looking for something fun, hip, trendy, cool, delicious. We've heard great things about Frenchie but sure we can't get a res....any suggestions for something similar? Innovative, new, cool, delicious?
Saturday night we're thinking L'Angle du Faubourg if we can get a table.
We're NYers, been to most of the top restaurants there. Love food of all varieties so any and all suggestions are welcome!
Thanks in advance!
Also, any recs near Cap D'Antibes appreciated!
Kid Friendly on the UWS?

Kid Friendly on the UWS?
We're heading in tomorrow to see the Macys balloons inflated and am trying to figure out a good place for an early (5:30ish) dinner somewhere kid friendly. I imagine Shake Shack will be mobbed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Downtown, inexpensive and res for this saturday night

Downtown, inexpensive and res for this saturday night
Need somewhere fun, not expensive (but doesn't have to be cheap) and good for this Saturday night for 3-4 women.
Used to be quite a foodie but moved to the burbs and don't really know what's going on in the restaurant scene too much anymore.
Thanks!
What's good in downtown Orlando?
Don't need anything in Disney or Universal...something good, open to anything, in downtown Orlando.
Thanks
Moving to Cranford/Westfield area and looking for suggestions
We also really like Mama Lou's in Westfield for subs and Fujiyama Mama in Westfield for sushi.
A Toute Heure is hands down our favorite restaurant in the area. Its definitely a can't miss.
For a great family friendly casual meal, the Tavern at the Stage House in Scotch Plains is great.
Which Momofuku? or somewhere else
H & I used to be big foodies...would go to every great/hot new restaurant in the city but then we had kids and have a hard time getting out these days. We want to go out for our anniversary next month and were thinking one of the momofukus...which one is best?
or is there somewhere else new and totally amazing we should be looking at?
Thanks
Not too $$$ private dinner for 30?

Not too $$$ private dinner for 30?
Hi
I'm looking for suggestions for somewhere to have a private dinner party in Manhattan for approx 30 people. Nothing fancy or expensive. Just somewhere reasonable with pretty good food. Somewhere we can set a prix fixe menu pretty easily. No real neighborhood in mind, pretty open. Like to spend no more than $50 pp.
thanks!
Recs for a good meal for 4 anywhere near Westfield or Maplewood
We've been to most of the restaurants in Westfield, looking for something new. Maplewood, Millburn, Short Hills, Chatham, Berkeley Heights, New Providence, etc are all fine areas for us. Open to anything
Dining recs for all over Italy, no idea where to start
My husband and I are leaving for Italy in 3 weeks. Spending 3 nights in Rome, one night south of Siena, one night in Siena, 2 nights in Florence and 3 nights in Venice.
Looking for fantastic meals. Willing to spend $$ but don't want fancy meals every night. Would like more of a mix of truly excellent and smaller, family run, intimate and delicious meals.
In Rome we are staying near the Campo dei Fiore, in Florence near the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi and in Venice near St. Marks
Thanks for any help you can provide
