That is exactly what i'm looking for... "creative food - neighborhood restaurants arena - median price level". I'm coming from SF and was hoping to find the same in SD....Thanks, everyone, for the suggestions. I'm sure we're going to have a great time. |

Thanks for the tips....i'm happy to have people just throw suggestions or mentions of their favorite restaurants...i can run down locations and menus on the internet and pick and choose based on where we are staying and if my friend (who has a car) is willing to drive to the place. Any and all types of food welcome.....just in the 15 to 25 dollar price range per entree (and delicious). |

Hi, i'm going to be in San Diego this weekend with some friends. We are staying in Rancho Bernardo but are willing to travel. I've not been to SD before and am looking for recommendations for places to eat....my friend has requested "Nothing super fancy, but maybe a little quirky". We will eat anything...love seafood and meat and all manner of ethnic food. I've searched the boards but haven't really found what i'm looking for (maybe Modus?). Thanks for any help. nancy |

Layonna Vegetarian / other options? Hi, Has anyone been to this place? It is a Vegetarian / Vegan chinese restaurant at Clement and 19th. I found one entry on a vegetarian website that said it had closed as of November 2007 but there are reviews in Yelp on the place well into the month so i'm thinking the vege website is wrong. I called them but no one is picking up the phone...i'm going to keep trying. I am looking for good Vege / Vegan food for a party of about 8 for tomorrow night. I'd rather not have to make reservation as i'm not sure of the total # of people that are going to show up. Anybody have any input / advice / info on Layonna??? thanks nancy |

restaurant / food req's for vegan Oh lordy...the goal is certainly not to only eat at places she can find vegan entree's. I've been researching restaurants for the group (and looking at menus) and I'm sincerely woried that she isn't going to be able to eat anything at the bulk of the places we are going to go. I'd like at least one place she can have a great meal. |

Can anyone give me feedback on this restaurant? I'm going to be in NO soon with a co-worker who is vegan and this place was recommended as having good vegan food on the menu. Nancy |

restaurant / food req's for vegan full on vegan....no animal products at all. I have been looking through the menus of the places i think we might go and i'm thinking she might starve to death while we're there (or have to hit a market and eat in the hotel room). |

restaurant / food req's for vegan Hi, I and 3 co-workers are going to be in New Orleans for 5 days at the end of september for a conference. I've gotten many good recomendations off of the board already but my problem is that one of our party is a strict vegan. Does anyone have any advice for lunch / dinner. We are staying at the Hilton riverside on Poydras st. We'd like to have at least one fancy dinner while we are there. Also should i be making reservations now? thanks so much nancy |
