Looking for Spicy Indian Food
Giving this a minor bump due to the holidays. Ideally if possible, I would prefer a place that has meat as well. I'm a carnivore, sorry!
Is it true I should just be looking for Pakistani instead of Indian for my regular favorite staples (Chicken Tikka Masala/etc.).
Looking for Spicy Indian Food
I've had a Indian friend come visit a few times always looking for spicy Indian foods. Well the past 2 times my friends recommended places that did not live up to the tasty/spicy scale.
Where can you recommend in LA/OC for the best Indian food that has some heat to it?
Dim Sum on Weekdays
Ive only been to dim sum places on the weekends, and usually sundays where'd you have to face the brunch crowds.
Did you end up having much of a wait at all?
I figure on weekdays lunch at those dim sum places arent so bad as most people are working.
Dim Sum on Weekdays
Well Elite is not a cart based dim sum place, so i can assume their foods will be great quality.
I guess I would worry on cart places if I came later.
Dim Sum on Weekdays
I actually getting monday off next week and I've been craving dim sum.
Do most of the Dim Sum places in the SGV have dimsum on the weekdays? How late do they usually serve dim sum?
I've been specifically eye Elite Restaurant for dimsum on monday but Im open to anyone with experience to any other on weekday mornings.
Best Dessert Palm Springs
Going to a friends for a BBQ and would love to bring a great dessert if anyone can recommend a place here for me to pick up a treat.
Tadich or Hayes Street Grill?
Going to take a friend for their last dinner here in San Fran. Which restaurant should I probably take them to? I've seen lots of recommendations between HSG/Tadich and I need some help deciding!
Best Seafood dishes?
I noticed a lot of Chinese places for seafood which makes me even more curious for seafood of the Asian Fare and of the American/Italian fare.
Best Seafood dishes?
Tried searching around a bit and would like to know where should I go in San Fran for the best seafood and which dish I need to order.
Best Juice Bar/Smoothie?
I guess since Im visiting from LA I've already had my fill of Jamba Juice. I've found some postings on Juice Generation as another alternative which I plan to try out today.
Best Juice Bar/Smoothie?
Its humid out and I'm craving something sweet to drink. After not much luck searching around, where can I find the best juice bar/smoothie in Manhattan?
Di Fiore Marquet
I did a search and it seems like I cant find much information on this place on Chowhound. Whats everyones experience with this place?
Chowhound dining guide
Its hard for me to post because I want to try the best in everything (at affordable prices) when Im in NY.
Though that book is a good tip, how up to date is it?
Chowhound dining guide
Big food connoisseur and I'll be coming to Manhattan for the first time. Is there a chowhound guide or a one with similar tastes for places to eat in and around manhattan?
Westside Chinese Duck/Pork BBQ by the pound
How late are these places generally open on the weekdays?
Craving great Fried Chicken
Their food is so good but their service is always godawful.
But the food does outweigh the service, cant get enough of those biscuits.
Westside Chinese Duck/Pork BBQ by the pound
Is there any places on the Westside where you can order chopped duck or pork from a Chinese place by the pound?
I know there is hop woo's, but they don't offer by the pound to go. Im seriously craving this for dinner tonight!
West Side late night dining?
Im looking for the best places to get some food late at night.
Lychee Jelly Cups
Can anyone else confirm Ranch 99 having these small ones still? Can I order these online?
Lychee Jelly Cups
Im referring to these:

Now I read that they were recalled for being a choking hazard.. and I can find them as the big square packages.
Does anyoen make ones like these anymore in the big tubs? I really miss and love these!
The best Tom kha gai?
I have a friend who is is getting over the cold and I would like to treat him to his favorite dish, Tom kha gai (coconut milk, lemograss, chilli, chicken)
Which restaurant should I be seeking for this dish in particular?
SUPERBOWL!
The big game is this sunday and can anyone recommend a great place to watch the game? I'm not planning to stay at the place for the whole game, maybe 1 quarter or so. It's probably going to be me and one other person so where should I check out for some some nice drinks and food?
UN-Sceney in Culver City?
I can say I think Natalee Thai has gone a bit downhill. The portions have gotten smaller from my previous experiences and just way too crowded for its own good.
Chinese seafood for only 2 people?
Hop Li in West La you can dine for 2, though the more the merrier I think (more dishes to share).
Recent visit to Zankou... disappointment
I originally lived a block off the East Hollywood Zankou and now I live on the west side and their is no difference in taste for the garlic or the chicken.
You can still get a whole chicken for $10 and its the best I've found still in LA.
getting my hands on a durian in the U.S.
I love the smell of the Durian.. They also have Durian Smoothies at Lee's Sandwiches here in LA, yum
