Healthy eating - great resource

Hey Michael - This is very well done. What a fantastic site!

I love the explanation of what the nutrients are good for with all the research and references to back it up.

I'm book marking this one!

What to do w/key limes besides pie?

Agree with alll three suggestions - but my fave is caipirinhas and uses plenty of lime.

White sauce for fish tacos?

We use a greek-inspired cucumber sauce with fish tacos.

Peel and finely chop (I run over cheese grater) one cucumber. Just mix about 1/2 cup sour cream with a pinch of salt/pepper and a squeeze of lemon wedge if you have some. Sometimes I'll add chopped parsley.

Oh yeah, often add chopped tomato when in season.

Great sauce for any grilled seafood.

You're kidding, right? That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long while. He's making fun of himself - trying to impress the girl, and influence her with aphrodisiacs with no luck - when he drinks the wine and it drools out of his mouth is priceless.

This is good understated humor - not silly, like Elton Brown, or just lame like Emeril. I liked it. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

tailgating recipes

I think you're looking more for menu ideas vs recipes. Also, need some more info before I can help: how far away is the event from your home and how much time will you have once you get there. Also, what kind of grill - gas or charcoal? That will help decide what you can prepare.

CAN I GET A HELL YEAH FOR CHAR-BROILED OYSTERS!!!!!

I'll second your emotion - grilled oysters rule! (love them raw, too - but that wasn't the question)

Got to be over a charcoal fire, then a few drops of melted butter or fresh squeezed lemon.

Amazing Potlucks?

We just had a potluck this past weekend and it was one of the best I've been to. About 15 couples came and only one store bought item (baked mac and cheese - boy was she embarrased!)

We had smoked turkey breast with homemade rasberry/chipotle sauce, a grilled shrimp/black bean/corn mixture in a brown sauce, tarragon scalloped potatoes, a great salad w/ all kinds of crunchy stuff and cheese, sauteed peas n shrooms, wild rice salad, some kind of roasted beets - again with walnuts and goat cheese that were awesome (and i don't even like beets) - what else, well - I could go on, but suffice it to say, it was NOT your typical potluck.

What are your favorite SPICY foods?

I can't get enough of smoked jalapeno (aka chipotle) flavor. Fresh (make my own sometimes) or dried, even in ready-made sauces out of the jar.

Add a little to my chili or other sauces....mmmmmmmm
