Business Drinks/Apps...Quiet, Yet Not Boring Midtown West/Columbus Circle

Looking for the perfect place/s to meet for drinks and some appetizers to discuss a deal. Time period from 5:00 to to 8:00. Do not want anything too loud, yet want a place with some ambiance. Any suggestions?

Anyone been to Epernay in Montclair NJ recently? Thinking of going and would like any opinion on the food (most important) , service and ambiance.

Best Steak in Northern NJ

Looking for the best steak in Northern NJ (Montclair, Hoboken, etc). Any thoughts on where to go? Does not necessarily have to be a steakhouse. Feel free to give me your top 3.

Telepan, not so good.

It is funny you say that because we were there recently (last week) and it was the first time where I felt that the food was not so special. We love the place enough that we will give it another chance or two.

Felice Wine Bar

Agree...about time a semi-hip place opened on the UES. We went their Saturday night at 7pm and it was booming. A great vibe that is so different from the many non-descript Italian restaurants that flood the UES. The food was good, but the atmosphere was great. I can't wait to go back.

Soho On George,,, %$^&(

Just came back from the worst meal in a long time. It was terrible on all fronts...Ambiance, Food and Service.

-They have not redecorated since 1992

-The food tasted like it was frozen ( note I was with 6 people who all had different dishes)

-The service was terrible...3 hours for a meal that was meant to be no more than a 2 hour experience. To give you an idea our dessert came out with all the ice cream melted ( completely). So not only does that tell you that we were waiting awhile, but they do not care enough to even look to see what they are serving.

Mr Chow...Is as bad as they say

We went to the Tribeca Mr Chow last night ( 12/09/06). I probably would have avoided it after seeing all the bad reviews. However friends picked the place, so we went along. This place was WORSE than the terrible reviews it received. Overpriced ($400 for 4 people, no bottle of wine), Overhyped and the food was no better than average chinese food. Do not get me started with the "no menu" thing. The 80's are over, and the retro thing just does not work here. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID...there are better places for food, atmosphere and yes, Chinese food.
