Twin Citians Drink More

I read on twitter we wouldn't have been number one if Milwaukee had been included in the rankings.

Sufganiyot (Hanukkah donuts)

Just saw Bogart's will have them starting tomorrow. Will have to pick some up this weekend! Happy Chanukah. https://www.facebook.com/bogartsdough...

Would the Maille "Hot" work? I think it has a nice kick.

local source for vanilla beans?

Cost Plus World Market usually has them. I thought they were 2 for $4, but looks like they've gone up in price to $6: http://www.worldmarket.com/product/wo...

Bringing in a meal for Thanksgiving, help needed

If you're looking for a single meal, take-out style, perhaps Colossal Cafe fits the bill for $12.95? http://www.colossalcafe.com/ (they also have packages available for a crowd).

Minneapolis Eater

Well, the airport's own web page still lists them as Terminal 1-Lindbergh and Terminal 2- Humphrey: https://www.mspairport.com/about-MSP....

and it appears to have been an old article recirculated based on the footer: "Reprinted from Paula Forbes' from Claire Stanford's 2013 guide with updates from Joy Summers"

But good on you for complaining here instead of sending the editor a note.

Ooooh - Limequats at the Wedge!

Hmm, I still have a bottle from the last time you posted... Wonder if it is still good.

Capicola ?

Does Red Table meat make one? Everything of theirs that I've tried has been fantastic so far. Biggest selection is at Seward Coop & Surdyks, I think.

Does any place offer cooking courses?

The best cooking class I've taken locally was a class at Kitchen in the Market with guest chef Jack Riebel (I think it is what they now call "Chef's night off). Lots of alcohol included and a great meal that we cooked ourselves. Perhaps you could buy a series of those (not quite what you're looking for, I realize Link: http://www.kitcheninthemarket.com/cla... and schedule: https://v1.bookwhen.com/kitm

Counter service, definite hole in the wall. I think the salsas on the table were the extent of the decor.

Great tip! Had 3 tacos for lunch (pastor, carnitas, tinga) and enjoyed them all.

Best Pie

It opened at 3pm and according to instagram, there was a line out the door. By the time I could have headed over there (4:30ish), they were sold out. I too do not have reason for a whole pie on a Monday, nor can I think of a pie worth camping out for / taking vacation time for.

Best Packaged Local Bacon in TC

I finally asked about the Lorenz bacon at Seward. Apparently they no longer sell it by the case, only by the pallet, so Seward has stopped carrying it. Bummer.

Best Packaged Local Bacon in TC

Yep, their Organic Eggs say "Supplied by Larry Schultz" or something, but the bacon doesn't. I've asked, just need to find the same guy again to get an answer.

Best Packaged Local Bacon in TC

Since I haven't been able to find Lorenz at Seward, I've been buying the Pastures-a-Plenty. I like it, but it has way more variability between the packages than other bacon, so you have to pick it carefully. Some are all fat and some have very little.

Best Packaged Local Bacon in TC

The only place that seems to have it reliably is the Wedge.

Anyone know who makes the Kowalski's private label bacon? It has the exact same packaging as the Lorenz ...

good tasting frozen berries and rhubarb

It's probably not too late to pick up fall raspberries at a market this weekend. I got several quarts last weekend at the Kingfield market and it was a warm week, so maybe they'll have them again?

Roast Duck in St. Paul/Minneapolis

I'm not a fan of duck, so I'm not vouching for these, but both Brasserie Zentral and Meritage have glazed duck breasts on their menu.

Heavy Table did a piece on this market that sells whole roast duck, but I don't know if that would be Peking Duck or not. http://heavytable.com/wung-lee-superm...

Elk Meat - Recommendations/Experiences?

I have never looked for it, but I swear Seward coop has talked about Elk (or elk bones?) on twitter. A google search pulled this blog post about them having elk in 2010: http://www.mplsrealfoodlover.com/2010... and this Chow thread from 2012 says the same: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/8451... So maybe give them a call?

Best New Must Dine Digs?

jfood is back in msp? welcome, i've missed your reviews.

I too, was disappointed by the tacos at Lagos Tacos, I can't even remember which version I ordered. The patio was lovely, though.

2014 State Fair Food -- report the hits and misses!

Thanks for this, I finally tried the wild rice burger last night. I'm not a fan of wild rice, but I didn't taste that at all, and it was a great, juicy burger. Probably too much just before a bike ride home, but I'll keep it on my must-buy list in the future. Also at $6, it's a pretty good bargain compared to the rest of the protein-heavy items.

Also tried the Salted Nut Roll gelato, and it was quite salty, but I ate the whole thing. I preferred the mini donut gelato that I had on the first day - very cinnamon forward and a bit sweeter than the salted nut roll or summit oatmeal stout flavors.

Tonic Syrup (concentrate)

Sorry, I was not paying attention! Zipp's should be on your radar, though, they have a large selection of tonics and bitters and ginger beers and other mixers.

I've seen the Jack Rudy Cocktail Co. Tonic concentrate http://jackrudycocktailco.com/ at Zipp's, Fall's, and the Kowalski's Liquor on Hennepin. Haven't seen any others.

Total wines has the best price on everything I've tried to price. Often by $6-$14 a bottle.

Korean in dinkytown

Am I the only one that has found Dong Yang not worth the effort? I've only been once, but was sorely disappointed.

I've been to Korea Restaurant once and enjoyed it.

I love Salty Tart, especially her coconut Macaroons. I've also been really impressed with the Bars bakery in the St. Paul skyway.
