What's Missing for take out in Wellesley?

I saw that california pizza ktichen was going in there (gasp!) but with figs gone maybe someone should do upscale pizza alla oggi in nyc...I also crave bbq and i dont see anything but blue ribbon which im not a huge fan of, but is decent.

What's Missing for take out in Wellesley?

...So my question is (being new to this particular area) is what are the best take out spots in the center area? Also, what's missing? Is they're good pizza, bbq, or mex?? or is it needed in the area?

any thoughts??

Anyone know whats going on with "Kingston" in Downtown Crossing?

Went last night:

Unfortunately for me I did not have a great experience. It was really slow overall, service and food. I felt like I was in a lab; very bright, stark white, & echoey. When we finally got the food it was all just "ok": rather bland and uninspired...an underseasoned omelet and a steak sandwich that was mostly lettuce and bread. I will give it another shot in a few months to see if they get it together.

La Verdad is: Mas o' Menos

Went Last night.....

Mas:

Lenguas taco- super tender, ok flavor (smoked?)
pescado- good, overwhelmed by sauces and what not
carnitas- nice, a tad dry

Menos:
1- All self respecting taquerias give TWO tortillas that are slightly larger than the one you get here.
2- Two bartenders on, we were two of 6 customers at the bar, took over 10 minutes to get a SOSO margarita! gave an attitude when we asked for hot sauce (that was basically empty and in a dirty bottle).
3- Over priced for what u get.

This concept is flawed. If KO is going to sign off on this, I should be able to tell ( and so should you) he is involved. I will stick with lupita ands the rotiseria cancun in maverick thanks.....

Uburger --recent thoughts

MIne too. I have read fast food nation, not really sure of your point though. Again we are getting down to personal preferences which is a no no. What hasn't changed at these chains is consistent flavors, some thing a u burger lacks.. The point is "what are we placing value on". I think its great that you want to assert your knowledge, but in regards to food discussion I maintain that for the money I would prefer the nostalgia of fast food for a buck.
In essence we agree, because I want return to u burger for the same reasons...

Uburger --recent thoughts

whether or not u think the mcdonalds is better is just personal opinion of course but remember this:

In-n-out burger has been in business over thirty years, mickey d's even longer. For the most part those fast joints havent changed and who could argue their popularity? The burgers at u-burger are in serious question for me because they dont stand up on their own, they dont overcome their own limiting factor (over cooked and dry usually). So for me I would say its not worth more because of that, and for a 1$ they dont really compare....
Finally, why go to the trouble of spending more money on ingredients (u-burger) and labor to make the food better if its not going to set its self apart.....its a case of a menu reading better than it eats....the biggest problem in this town.

U-burger is unfortunately a total dissapointment. the fact that "u" cant get a burger there thats not overcooked really takes them out of contention as a serious burger place. Id rather get a double cheese at mickey d's for a buck...

l.a. expat seeking "l.a."-type authentic mexican food

I grew up in cali and the northwest, I am sad to report that u wont find what your looking for....the closest i have found in 7 years is rotisceria cancun in maverick square, mostly for papusa (not mex, but delish) and for burritos and such. The flavors are authentic here and I find that to be as comforting.....

Valentine dinner at Gargoyles on the Square

i have eaten there quite a few times.....it was much better with the old chef.....The new guy seems talented and i want things to taste good, but it often underwhelms. Its sad because i have been going there for over 5 years. the bar is really the only viable option now.
