What's up with Noo Na?

I love Noo Na on Vanderbilt in Prospect Heights, but the last few times I've walked by, its been shuttered. It looks like there's renovation work going on - does anyone know if its still going to be Noo Na when the work is complete? I hope so, though I'm a bit suspect since it didn't look like Noo Na needed much work.

Wedding at Studio 6 / Abigail Kirsch

I don't know about Studio 6, but I had my wedding at the Botanical Gardens with Abigail Kirsch and the food was amazing. We weren't able to do a tasting, but all the food was great. Plus, there was tons of food left over, especially for the appetizers, so my parents asked if they could box up some of the stuff, which they were more than happy to, and it was a good supplement for brunch the next day which my parents had at their house, and City Harvest picked up the rest of the leftovers, per our request. I would highly recommend Abigail Kirsch to anyone.

Cheryl's Place near the Brooklyn Library

I went to cheryl's over the weekend with my husband and parents after First Saturday at the museum and had a great time! It was crowded at first with two large birthday parties, but after they left, it quieted down significantly and the waiters were able to catch their breath. To start, we had two orders of the jerked chicken wings which were fabulous, and for a main course, I had the sake glazed salmon, my husband had the steak, my dad had the tamarind chicken and my mom had the creole shrimp and everyone was very pleased with their food. Contrary to baldwyck, I loved the salmon and thought the nori complimented the dish very well, and it was served with sushi rice.

To finish up the night, we split an order of the bread pudding which was great - much lighter than any bread pudding I've ever had without being dry.

All around, it was a great meal.

Henry's End

the portions are pretty big. and all entrees come with a side salad, which i usually forget about and end up ordering a salad as an appetizer. but the desserts are so good that you have to make room for them anyway.

Cake Man Raven - is it still good?

The first time I had it was just a few months ago, but boy was it awesome!

Best Brooklyn dinner spot near Fort Greene

i agree - i like beast, but i wouldn't say its worth the trip from manhattan - its more like a tasty neighborhood joint than a go to destination.

South Slope Tonight

thanks all - ended up not venturing to the south slope after all, but i'm in that area often enough so i'll keep these all in mind. i'd heard about cafe steinhoff, but not little d or bar toto, so i look forward to checking them all out.

South Slope Tonight

Hi, I'm going to be at 15th St and 5th ave tonight and would love to grab dinner after without walking too far due to the cold. Don't want to spend a ton, so Applewood will have to wait until another time. Its been awhile since I've been in that area - suggestions?

Seeking: Quick pre-Mark Morris dinner

pequena on south portland between lafayette and dekalb is tasty and i think they have veggie options.

otherwise, for really cheap and tasty, though low on atmosphere, there's very tasty falafel on atlantic just off of 4th ave on the south side of the street (i forget the name but its the only falafel joint near the corner). a bit less of a walk.

Geido on Flatbush and 7th ave

i've been to the geido on flatbush and its very good (though yamato is my fave). taro on bergen off of flatbush is very good as well.

Searching for $70pp in Brooklyn - celebration

I've been to Henry's End when there are moderately large groups so they could probably handle it, and they are great! Highly recommend them, and their waitstaff are always very nice and helpful.

If I love places like Thai Sky and Rice Thai in Park Slope will I hate Sripraphai?

I haven't been to Sripraphai, but I have been to Thailand and I didn't eat anything there that seemed radically different from Thai food in the states, so I'm sure you'll like it.

Anyone recommend a cafe/bakery that makes great savory tarts?

You might want to check the french bakery on 9th st, between 5th and 6th ave (in PS). I'm not positive, but since they do both sweets and sandwiches they might be a good bet.

Good French in Park Slope/Ft. Greene?

I second Belleville. Its more of a brasserie menu than Moutarde, but pretty good for what it is.

Bogota

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. I haven't been there in a few months, but I've always had great food when I'm there. Love the arepas, the platains and the mojitos, and I forget what I've gotten for entrees but I've never been disappointed.

Smoke Joint - Thank Jebus!!

the guys are only included with one of the dishes right now - when i was there a few weeks ago, they said they were waiting until they perfected it to add it as a side, since their kitchen isn't ideal for baking right now.

Holiday party/private space in Park Slopish area?

I'm pretty sure that Bogota on 5th ave does private parties and it would be a fun place to do it.

Fish Market in Park Slope

the c-town on 9th st between 5th and 6th actually has a pretty good fish section. and union market on union and 6th is very good, though pricey. best selection i've seen though has to be fairway.
