Chow worthy near Birch Aquarium Looking for dining options before or after a concert at Birch aquarium. The catch is it will probably need to be early (4 pm) or late (after 9pm) on a Wednesday. Cuisine not so important. Any thoughts? |

East Coast vs. West Coast seafood. Sounds intriguing though I am not sure which is the heart and which is the soul. |

Favorite (independent) coffee shop? Toma Del Sol in Mission Hills is good, although in their infintite wisdom they are now turning it into a Sports Bar. Ugh. |

Hi, |
|
|
I need to obtain a birthday cake and just realized most bakeries need a couple of day advance notice for something custom. Is there a good place to get a pre made cake? Thanks in advance! |

El Take it easy sounds like a place I would like to check out, although maybe, as much as I like Avery, a bit sacreligioius to use a microbrew in a Micheleda? El Camino it is! Thanks! |

pre wedding dinner with family - recomendations: North County coastal Hi, I am looking for recommendations for a site to have a pre-wedding dinner with families of bride and groom, kind of like a rehearsal dinner without the rehearsal. I would prefer something that provides something of a San Diego experience as both families are flying in from the midwest-south. Saying that, guests are not very adventurous eaters so some meat and potatoes staples will be necessary. I would prefer north county - coastal as the wedding will be in Encinitas but am willing to look at other areas. A private room would be nice but not a deal breaker. Thanks in advance for all of you help, |

crosspost from cookware, not sure how busy it is over there. Looking for a retailer of Beehouse teapots in San Diego, does anyone know of one? |

Tamarind Paste/Sauce in San Diego yea, when I asked for help two different people just pointed in the general direction. anyhow, I found after further exploration at 99 Ranch. My mistake was looking for something in a jar |

Going to be in LA for the marathon next month, looking for a recommendation for mid range Italian or someplace nice that has some pasta selections on the menu. We will be staying at the LA live Marriot, so around that area or a short cab ride away would be best. Thanks so much! |

Went with Arrivederci, it was very good, thanks. Josh, I will definately be checking out Burno, as it is in the neighborhood, thanks! |

Fresh Hearts of Palm in San Diego maybe fresh is not in the cards, seems to only be available where they are produced (Florida, Brazil, Costa Rica) I think this might be my best bet |
