Large private room for Korean BBQ or other inexpensive birthday dinner?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I talked to them all by phone and might go take a look at some of them. Yong Su San also seems on the pricier side, starting at $30 they told me. Tahoe and O Dae San seem to be best, followed by Road to Seoul, which is ok but they say if you have less than 100 people you have to share the room.

Large private room for Korean BBQ or other inexpensive birthday dinner?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a place that has a large private room for about 30-40 and works well for an inexpensive birthday dinner, perhaps Korean BBQ but I'm open to other ideas. Ideally it's a private room where people can sit and eat but there's room to move around, stand, drink, chat, and bounce around to talk with different groups of people. I'm considering Chosun Galbee and O Dae San but looking for other possibilities.

Thanks in advance!

Day after Valentine's Day 2010

I have to push my Valentine's Day date with my girlfriend to Monday Feb 15th this year, and I was wondering if you had any suggestions, either for brunch or dinner. I thought perhaps there could be a romantic place that had a Monday night special or prix fixe menu (like pizza at Vincenti?). Or perhaps there's a place that's problematic on V-day itself but would be great for a V-day dinner that's not actually on V-day. Any suggestions would be great! -Zach

30th birthday party ideas?

Definitely no more than $50 a person, and probably less than that. Preferably something where everyone pays for themselves.

30th birthday party ideas?

Hi all,

I'm looking for an idea for a unique, food related, LA area 30th birthday party. It would happen in November, for about 40 people, Ideally it would allows everyone to talk to a lot of people, especially people they don't already know. It can be anything from renting a room at a Korean BBQ restaurant, to a cheese tasting somewhere, to making your own pizza at the apartment to a trip to a fruit-picking farm. Would love to hear any thoughts you have.

Private room, N Miami Beach to Ft Lauderdale?

I'm looking for a place with high-quality, chowhound-approved food that has a private room, and that's anywhere from North Miami Beach to Ft. Lauderdale. It's for a big family reunion-type gathering on Dec 26. Any thoughts?

Westside with parents from out of town (but moderate prices)?

Hi, I'm looking for a Westside place to go with my parents from out of town, so a unique, special occasion type place that looks decent but is moderate in price, like a sub-$40 in Zagats lingo. Somewhere on the level of Border Grill or Musha (though we've already done those). I was wondering about Typhoon, Osteria Latini, Nanbankan, or something similar.

Spago, Hatfield's or Lucques?

Spago, Hatfield's or Lucques for a special occasion dinner? It's for someone from out of town (who has heard of Spago but not the others) and is a vegetarian. Looking for unique, high quality, and good atmosphere.

Looking for unique restaurant that's $100 for two

Hi, I'm looking for a restaurant for about $100-$120 for two people, for me and a friend from out of town. My criteria (in order) are: 1) quality, 2) unique/inventive food, 3) unique to California/an LA experience, 4) vegetarian friendly (my friend's a vegetarian), 5) lively atmosphere, 6) decor befitting a special occasion. What's the best restaurant in the LA area that fits?

West Hollywood/Hollywood first date?

Thanks everyone, these are great. I'm favoring Lou, Tasca, or Yatai but I'll ask what kind of food she likes and figure it out from there.
