Which new Mexican-ish place should I visit first?

Chicken is the worst. Chicken enchiladas or Pork with mole is somewhat better. I went to a hole in the wall Mex place in Reno recently and they had Chicken with Mole. Sauce was not quite as good but close, and the chicken was way better. And it was a whopping $8.

Need to find fresh locally made corn tortillas

TJ corn tortillas are not very good. I've heard their flour tortillas are OK, but I have not tried them.

Some lunch recs in Cambridge to complement my Boston trip?

Do not be tempted to order the thai food though.

Karl's Sausage Kitchen

The pork chops are very good. Try both the regular bacon and the triple smoked bacon. I just had a BLT with the regular bacon today. I like to take the triple smoked bacon camping.

CHOWDOWN REPORT: Golden Garden

What they refer to as leek is more like chives. Good prices and very generous servings for everything. We tried to pick menu items that were representative of Dongbei (north east China) cuisine.

Pork, shrimp and leek dumplings: woo-hoo!
Leek Pie: excellent, crispy crust with a tasty chivey filling.
Sour Cabage with Steamed Bacon: This is kind of a stew with noodles. Very good.
Pork Intestine with Spicy Sauce: very good, only moderately spicey.

These are just a few items that stood out for me, but everything was very good.

Will be in MIT campus on Aug. 27. Where are good breakfast/lunch/dinner places on campus?

Good list. Thailand Cafe (only for Sichuan cuisine) is great. I would also add Mulan (Taiwanese) and Baraka Cafe (North African).

I have a new job in Woburn/Burlington area, where do I eat lunch??

Tudo Na Brasa (Brazilian bbq, downtown Woburn) is good. Bahamas Grill is the other bbq joint; I haven't been.

Any details on Mesa?

Royal East, Kentral Cambridge?

They have a specials board that can be OK. I recall hearing you can pre-order some things. No personal experience with this, but it's worth a shot.

Essential Boston Food for a 2-Day Scouting Trip

For Ethiopian, I would recommend Habesha in Malden, just north of Boston (easy drive, or on the subway.)

In East Boston, there is a Peruvian place called Rincon Limeno.

Thailand Cafe (make sure to stick to Sichuan dishes)
Mulan (stick to Taiwanese dishes)
Baraka Cafe

Boston's Best Authentic Mexican/Tex Mex

I've been there twice since August. Pretty sure they are still there.
Their phone is (781) 642-7410

Request for general recommendations for Woburn area

For pizza, there's Louie's in Woburn and Pizza in Piazza (downstairs from Lucia's) in Winchester. Mamadou's bakery in Winchester is excellent. Sichuan Garden is good for Chinese.

Grand Feast at Fuloon!

It's two days later, and my wife says I still smell like garlic. mmmm garlic...

dining solo in Cambridge

You can walk to the North End in Boston from the Marlowe (or take the T for 2 stops). Lots there. Helmand is near the Marlowe too. Technique at the Cordon Bleu is nearby. I would google "Marlowe Cambridge Yelp" and then Browse Nearby Restaurants.

Best dim sum in Boston?

Each small plate is about 3 to 4 dollars, some may be a little more. I don't think I've ever asked how much something was, and I've never been surprised by the price. Seafood items tend to cost more as a general rule. Four plates per person would be a lot of food. Don't go right at the end, they are winding down, and the selection won't be as good.

Winecellar of Silene?

They claimed it was a combination of the economic down turn their lease was going up substantially . They could be back somewhere, someday. I really liked that place.

Best Korean BBQ in Boston area?

Woo Jung is good and they have BBQ, but not on the table.

new malden chow: ethiopian Habesha

I've had the veggie platter. Nothing looked like meat.

Scandinavian Food

Karl's Sausage Kitchen has a few things. They also make Korv.

Sakura, Winchester, review

I've been twice, had a lunch box and a nigiri/maki/sashimi platter. I'm not an expert on Japanese cuisine, but I thought that it was good, and better than many Japanese restaurants I've been to. Moderate price point, nice dinning room, friendly service. I think they have been open for about a month or two.

Good Eats, Easy Access to 128--Help?

Search for Waltham or Newton.

Will the New Parking Rules Make People Think Twice About Dining in Somerville?

I already avoid Somerville. This will make it even worse.

I'll give you 7 bucks for lunch--where would you spend it?

Tudo Na Brasa in Woburn for Brazilian BBQ. Load up a plate for $6 a pound, bring my own beer, and it's still under $7.

Masa --my favorite new spot for brunch

I had brunch at the Woburn Masa about a month ago. I thought it was pretty good and a good value. I didn't like the empanada that much, I would go with the granola or fruit instead.

vegetarian eats somewhere in boston! we want the good stuff...

Two less expensive options:

I just had the vegetarian combo platter today at Habesha in Malden. Not fancy, but very good. $12 will feed 2. Wash it down with some honey wine.

Helmand in Cambridge has a vegetarian sampler that I remember enjoying too.

Suggestions for a double date night with a couple with food restrictions?

I went to Catch recently. It was very nice.

Seeking ethnic dining on the North Shore

I second either Fuloon or Habesha.

Eithopian Restos in Cambridge/Somerville

There is a new Ethiopian place in Malden called Habesha (near the orange line) that I think is good. Very good value too. I prefer it to the others in the area.
