Red Lobster Sold...................

I'm sure someone is tasked with the responsibility to properly maintain the tanks; I don't think it is fair to assume otherwise. A more important factor would be the rate of turnover. Sedentary lobsters in a tank will loose strength and the firmness of the meat. I think freezing lobster is a 3 point deduct on a 10 scale.

Do some brands of charcoal burn better/hotter/longer than others?

Charcoal absorbs moisture and humidity like a sponge. You want to store it in as dry a location as you can come up with.

Matamoros? There is a really good restaurant there, I wish I could remember its name. The drive from Matamoros to Veracruz is now unsafe; I won't do it again.

Red Lobster Sold...................

I like to see a business succeed. I don't give a rat's ass who makes it happen, or why it matters to anyone.

Darden selling Red Lobster chain

I deliberately used the adjective 'beefy' to describe a potentially high price, only because it is a seafood themed restaurant. Time will tell, Ipse. Actually I figured you alone would catch that one..:)

Gee, that sounds so much sexier than suckling pig on a crusty bollo roll with crispy pork rind and habanero sauce and a large fresh squeezed Veracruz orange juice at 7 AM, all for about 3 bucks in the Yucatan!

Blowfish on Long Island

I almost freaked out as a kid when I caught my first sea robin in Long Island Sound!

Red Lobster Sold...................

That Red Lobster attracts certain races is such an ignorant, laughable and absurd notion. I thought all of us are way beyond that type of thinking.

Blowfish on Long Island

Very interesting, thanks! I have only seen them diving in the tropics. I wouldn't hurt one, they are like little lost puppies.

Blowfish on Long Island

Blowfish are a warm water fish, I wonder where they came from. Not the Long Island Sound.

Free standing restaurants are valued on the operational profitability, not on the cost or attractiveness of the building. There is no easy adaptive reuse of a restaurant building, and the real estate of a failing restaurant is very difficult to appraise, sometimes no more than the value of the plot of land it is on.

What are the most loved German foods?

I have only been to Germany once, in November, and ate a lot of game in Bavaria and enjoyed some wonderful local wines along the Rhine river.
I dated a woman from Germany for some years and her best dish was rouladen with potato dumplings and gravy, and red cabbage.

What are your thoughts of this restaurant corkage fee policy?

Magnum = 1 bottle.
$20 x 1 =20$
Those who drink magnums are quite capable of replenishing their glasses after the uncorking event.

There are very few of African descent in Mexico. Numerous Garifuna settled in nearby Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras, few in Mexico.
They cook neat stuff.

Phonetically you are correct. The spelling is the same. I would like to keep this light and lively and amusing, if possible.

There are some amusing exceptions. I'm a white haired Danish-American who has lived off and on in Mexico since 1996, and I was so tanned up when I obtained my FM3 retirement visa there that my skin color is described as "negro".

How do you eat sushi with other people?

I order what I want to eat, although I rarely eat sushi with a group. Sushi may be the only type of food I prefer to eat alone, I get wonderfully lost in it with a box of premium sake and a good connection with my chef.

Darden selling Red Lobster chain

Probably. Darden plans to concentrate on improving performance of the Olive Garden brand. Whatever the new Red Lobster owners do will be interesting to watch.

US leapfrogs France to top world wine consumption league

I can't find the data point now, but I once calculated that Americans drink less than one bottle of Champagne PER YEAR. Don't we have more cause to celebrate in a year?
