Hey Hounds! Wondering if there are any good breakfast places near LAX. I'll be in the area on a Sunday morning so a place without a super long wait would be ideal. Thanks! |

We're looking for a place with fresh fish - simple preparation, casual, etc.. No fancy seafood joints, just the real thing- pulled out of the ocean, cleaned up and ready to grill. (Something similar to "Blue Fish" in San Diego, if anyone is familiar with it.) Do fresh fish places exist in LA?? |

I was wondering the same thing! What is it like this time of year? Is it still pretty picturesque and worth visiting? Off-season? |

Maybe we should all go in there and tell them we're looking for a Mexican restaurant that doesn't serve burritos or tacos? Worth a shot! |

Are you referring to the Chilangos in Hillcrest?? Please tell me it's some other one that's closed :( |

Fresh affordable produce in San Diego?? Thanks, honk. We'll definitely check that one out. I also heard there's a huge Croatian population (Dalmatian) in San Pedro. Are you Croatian? |

Dinner in San Diego Gaslamp District We had a very below-average experience at Royal Thai this week. The soup was lukewarm and pretty flavorless. The "spicy" (indicated by a firecracker on the menu) is not spicy at all and the curry (and soup) were extremely heavy in the coconut milk department. It wasn't the worst Thai we've ever had (pretty close) but it was bad enough not to go back. We really enjoy the Irish Pub in Gaslamp - The Field. Food and ambiance are great although I'm not sure how "quiet" it would be on a Saturday night. Maybe if you do dinner early? Either way, you can't go wrong with the dishes and the Guinness on tap is incredible. We've enjoyed this pub more than some of the ones we frequented in Dublin! |

Bragg Liquid Aminos and Apple Cider Vinegar FB: Check out the Bragg book at Whole Foods. It's a thin paperback that describes the many many health benefits of raw apple cider vinegar. You can use it on food, to rid your body of maladies and for general health. Pretty incredible. The raw is more expensive than just regular apple cider vinegar because it's unpasteurized and unprocessed ("alive.") It also aids digestion but I don't recall how to take it without checking the book. Definitely worth the few dollars to get it! |

Fresh affordable produce in San Diego?? Wow, thanks everyone! My mouth is watering at the possibilities. We're located downtown, actually. But I'm learning after endless walks that we have to DRIVE to the produce markets! Honkman: Croatian chocolates - are you referring to Kras?? How exciting!!!! : ) |

Fresh affordable produce in San Diego?? Hi hounds! We're fairly new to SD and are still trying to find some good produce that's not going to soak up the entire paycheck. Is there such a place?? We've tried several grocery stores (albertsons, ralphs, henry's, trader joes and whole foods) but haven't found the right one. Is there a mexican/ethnic market around with quality, fresh offerings? Thanks so much for your input - can't wait to continue exploring... |

Hi foodies! We're new to SD and have been craving some New Mexican-type green chile fare. Any suggestions? Thanks! |
