Good Steakhouse Near Washington National Airport
Agree with Rays (didn't realize they dry-aged in-house).
If you want to stay in the airport, they recently opened a Sam & Harry's. Not able to vouch for it however.

BRGR:Shack coming to Ballston.
I stopped by on Saturday for lunch. They did a nice job with the place. Hard to believe that it used to be the Eat n Run deli.
Anyway, I was somewhat disappointed with the burger. They spend a lot of effort explaining that these are "grass fed" hamburgers, and therefore good for you or something (lower fat, high vitamins, good for the planet, etc., etc.). But the burger just seemed tasteless to me. I got a bacon-cheeseburger, which comes on a pumpernickle bun. The pumpernickle bun just killed it for me (tasted like it was a few days old). Next time I'll try just a regular bun.
Also, I thought it was a bad sign when they told me that they generally cook their burgers medium-well unless otherwise specified. I requested medium-rare, and it ended up somewhere between medium and medium-well. And when I ordered, I saw them throw a partially cooked burger onto the grill, so it seems they are reheating previously cooked burgers rather than starting with a raw patty (at least, this is how it seemed to me).
Very good fries though. And my wife was happy with her turkey burger.
How does it compare to other local joints? Light years behind Rays and BGR. Somewhat comparable to Big Buns, although I like Big Buns slightly better.
I'll probably give it another shot though since I live so close by.
Where to lay our heads after dining at Inn at Little Washington
Second the recommendation for the Foster Harris house.
Question about BLT Steak
Of course it's possible. I would assume that steaks are cooked to order. I do this all the time at Ray's.
Cooking Classes near the Oranges??
Looking to get my sister a gift certificate for some cooking classes. She lives in S. Orange. I see that Kings Supermarkets has a series of classes. Any other places? Much appreciated.

Tips for eating in Bethesda?
I tried Fresh Grill last week and although it was good, I prefer BGR.
Restaurant near Inn at Little Washington?
Thornton River was recommended to us by Diane at Foster Harris. It's very casual. She also recommended several other nearby restaurants, so feel free to ask her when you check in. We chose Thornton River primarily because it was the closest to the B&B.
Our favorite vineyards in the area were Narmada, Linden and Rappahannock Cellars.
Restaurant near Inn at Little Washington?
We just took a similar trip. Stayed at Foster Harris house. Ate dinner one night at Thornton River Grille and it was good. Next night we ate at the Inn.
For lunch, go to 24 Crows, about 5 miles north of Washington in Flint Hill. It's a tiny place, but they make amazing sandwiches. The chef used to work at the Inn.
New to DC area - Restaurant suggestions for Arlington and area
In addition to the other suggestions, I would also note El Pollo Rico or Super Pollo for Peruvian style rotisserie chicken. Pretty much a "must" and cheap!

Chez Manelle in Arlington - Report
I went there last night. Friendly, family-run place.
Food was OK, nothing amazing. Certainly interesting.
BUT they have one of the hottest blondes I've ever seen working there, so I will be back. (-;
Lyon Hall
Went there last week. Didn't post a review because I don't want the place to get too mobbed. Suffice to say, it's very good.
[DC Metro Area] Sloppy Joe's?
What kind of sloppy joe are we talking about?
The ground beef-tomato sauce sandwich (a la Manwich).
Or the triple-decker deli sandwich with turkey, corned beef, roast beef, Russian dressing, swiss cheese and cole slaw? At least, that's what those of us from New Jersey call a sloppy joe.

Decent takeout/delivery near Sibley Hospital?
My wife will be in Sibley Hosp for a few nights (maternity), and I was wondering if there were any good places nearby from which I could bring in a decent dinner for her. I live in N. Arlington so I'm familiar with the stuff around there, but anything on MacArthur or thereabouts? Thanks.
