Port Isabel - Port Aransas Recs?

My wife and I will be in Port Isabel, Port Aransas, and Rockport for several days in early March and would appreciate dining recs in these towns, especially seafood. Quiet and elegant is preferable to loud and cheap, but we'd like to hear about everyone's favorite places and what makes them favorites.

PHX Lunch and Dinner

We will be in Phoenix soon, staying at the Best Western Central as we will be visiting the Heard and the Phoenix Art Museum. Can anyone suggest some top-notch French or Northern Italian places for lunch and dinner? I know Phoenix is huge but we would prefer not to drive more than half an hour from the motel for either meal.

LUNCH IN EL PASO?

My wife and I are going to El Paso on Monday to celebrate a special birthday (hers). We will have dinner that night at Cafe Central, which we think is the best restaurant between Dallas and Los Angeles, but I'm hoping someone can suggest a place of equivalent quality for lunch. Type of cuisine and price are not important; quality of food is.

Dining Recs in Ventura?

My wife and I will be stopping overnight in Ventura next month on a driving trip from Texas to Oregon and would like to find a quiet, elegant place for dinner in which we can recover from an all-day drive. Northern Italian or French would be great, but not an absolute requirement. $ not as important as quality. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Green Pastures, anyone been for dinner?

Green Pastures is one of my favorite Austin retaurants. I have been going there on and off since 1964, and have had lunch, brunch, and dinner there several time this year, even though I no longer live in Austin. It is quiet, elegant, understated, reasonably priced, and in a beautiful location, surrounded by old oak trees and peacocks. For dinner, I recommend the lamb chops or the duck; for lunch, the crab cakes. The Sunday brunches are sumptious but beware the milk punch.

Anything New In Astoria

My wife and I will be making our annual trek from West Texas to Long Beach, Washington (across the river from Astoria, Oregon) early in January. In addition to getting re-hydrated, we want to eat the best seafood around. Is there anything new and wonderful within a 50-mile radius of Astoria, or in Portland, since we were there last January and February?
