Fried soup dumplings / shen jian bao / shengjian mantou Thanks AndyEats and HungWeiLo. Appreciate the pointers. Too bad it is after noon - otherwise I would head over to Little Taipei right now. |

Fried soup dumplings / shen jian bao / shengjian mantou In Shanghai you can get pan fried soup dumplings. One great place to get them is Yang's: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g308272-d2035728-Reviews-Yang_s_Fried_Dumplings-Shanghai.html Anyone know where to get these pan fried soup dumplings in the Seattle area? Note that we are looking for the fried soup dumplings that are crispy on the bottom and topped with sesame seeds and green onions - they are some times called shen jain boa (SJB). These are not steamed dumplings like Din Tia Fun's Juicy Pork Dumplings http://www.dintaifungusa.com/menu_sea.html which are sometimes called xiao long bao (XLB). And FWIW the DTF dumplings are great - but just trying to track down the other ones. |

Tres Leches Cake - Eastside or Seattle Been watching the Portland Tres Leches Cake thread... and I'm getting hungry. Any around here that are good? -Shew |

(Eastside) Looking for a quiet place that won't break the bank We just did dinner for nine at Szechuan Chef for $123(with tip and tax) - great food and leftovers. We all like tea so that keeps down the costs too. So you can make it happen for under $15/person. Now Szechuan Chef is probably a little more adventurous and noiser than Vexorg seemed to indicate. -Shew |

(Eastside) Looking for a quiet place that won't break the bank One place right near Claim Jumper is Matt's in Redmond Town Center. It is quieter and has tastier food - although a smaller menu - and it is the same price range. Some other places to consider right near Redmond that have “accessible” food, are reasonably quiet, and aren’t too expensive: There are many other good choices on the east side if you want broaden the net. -Shew |

It is very good. Some of our favorites on the eastside include Cafe Jaunita, Seastar, Pomogranate, and Tosoni's. -Shew |
