Finger Food for Housewarming?

Hi all,

I'm hosting a housewarming/Halloween dinner party at my house and I need suggestions for takeout/catering.

I'd like to serve some finger foods, and maybe 2-3 "dishes." Wondering where I should order from, any good recs?

Thanks for your recs. No attachment to Roscoe's, just heard about it from many people and thought I'd check it out. As a Korean-American, I'm a big fan of the black cod and daikon dish so I will definitely try to check out Sa Rit Gol while I am in K-Town.

My friend and I will be in LA for three full days and one half-day in June. We are two fairly adventurous eaters from NYC, looking for a unique-to-LA foodie experience. We will be staying in the LAX area, which I'm told is slightly inconvenient for chow, but we're willing to drive a bit. I'd appreciate it if anyone could look over our tentative itinerary and offer suggestions, constructive criticism, or let us know if it's too ambitious. Here's what we have planned so far:

Saturday
- Universal Studios Hollywood
- Dinner at Asabeno
- Bar hopping on the Sunset Strip - any suggestions on late night eats or nightlife?

Sunday
- Breakfast at Roscoe's
- Melrose Avenue shopping
- Lunch in Santa Monica/Venice area? Father's Office?
- Venice Beach
- Santa Monica Beach
- Korean BBQ

Monday
- Fishing at Redondo Beach Pier
- Lunch at Quality Seafood
- Beverly Hills
- Hollywood
- Dinner at AOC Wine Bar

Tuesday
Any suggestions on one last meal we can eat before catching a flight at 2:30pm out of LAX? Think we can fit El Taurino in here?

Where can I find gamja tang?

Kun Jip has one, but make sure you ask for it without the huge black peppercorns. They can be a bit too much.

If you're willing to venture out to Queens, there is a place in Flushing that serves ONLY gamja tang. I can find the name out for you if you want.

What do you eat?

Being a Korean-American, I'd go to Flushing, hit up Ham Ji Bak, and grill up some pork belly (sam gyup sahl).

But let's talk Manhattan.

I think mine would be a lobster roll at Pearl's with a fried oyster appetizer and blueberry pie for dessert.

Review - Kunjip (9 W 32ND ST , 212-216-9487)

The steamed egg side is known as "gyeh rahn jjim," or literally, steamed egg. Kunjip is the only place in K-town that consistently gives it to you as a side. I think you just pour water and egg into a bowl and steam it.
