I went to Town on a Friday night and the noise was unbearable. The bar is in the middle of the dinning room so you get all the noise from the bar. I can't remember what the food was like. I liked it much better when it was A Tavola. I agree with Sushi Monster about Piacere. Excellent food and service and also a nice bar NOT in the dinning room.

In SF, try Harris Steakhouse at Van Ness & Pacific. Great steak. Not cheap. Also Ruths Chris steakhouse on Van Ness and California. I haven't been there in years but I do remember a great Filet Mignon. Like butter.
