Bridal Shower - BYO or wine tasting?

ha, sorry. I moved from brooklyn to boston over a year ago and that gives me the right to be an ignorant a-hole tourist when it comes to terminology. i'm (halfway) kidding :)
what's the gentrified name they're trying to pass off onto red hook now?

Luna Rossa

They are amazing. I love them. Has anyone eaten there over the summer in the outdoor garden? I'm planning an event for midday mid-July and I'm curious if it's cruelly hot out there, or if there are fans and such...
They really need to fix their website!

Bridal Shower - BYO or wine tasting?

thanks for your thoughts :) I had ruled out Essex because we've had brunch there before and it's a little too hipster/crowded for our taste... I'll check out Sticky Rice though. thanks!

Bridal Shower - BYO or wine tasting?

Hi there - just posted this in Manhattan, sorry for the repeat. I am planning a small coed wedding shower (20 people) this summer for my very cool/modern designer friend. She lives in Park Slope and I would love to find a place around BOCOCA or Park Slope. I'm trying to find a place that could host a wine tasting - either hosted by them, or by allowing us to bring a wine tasting kit - along with being able to serve some nice hors d'oevres or a luncheon. We are trying to keep costs down, to around $25 or $30 a head. An indoor, air conditioned private room or area would probably be the smart thing to do, as we're planning for mid July or August :)
Anyone know a place like that?
Thanks!

Bridal Shower - BYO or wine tasting?

Hi there - I'm planning a small coed bridal shower (~20 people) for my very cool downtown/modern style friend. I was thinking a wine tasting with a luncheon or hors d'oevres would be cool to do. The price is of course the issue. We were hoping to keep costs below $25 a head (since that never includes tax, gratuity, etc). I'm trying to find a reasonable place that could either provide both the wine and food, or just a lunch with a BYO policy so that we could provide our own wines. Location is flexible, but downtown is preferable. Thanks!

Yat ka Mein in NYC?

Years ago in Pittsburgh, I used to order a chinese dish called Yat ka mein. The dish is pretty simple - just egg noodles in chicken broth with pork or chicken and vegetables - but it is completely addictive and I've been looking for it in NYC for some time. Anyone know where I can find it?
