Specialty food stores?

This is exactly what I am looking for, thanks.

Specialty food stores north of Santa Barbara

I'm looking for recommendations of interesting specialty food stores, north of Santa Barbara to make a tour. Have posted on the SF Bay area board, and someone recommended posting here too. Looking for places that have artisan baked goods, cheeses, confectionery. Thanks for any suggestions you give!

Specialty food stores?

I'm looking for great specialty food stores, candy, cheese and the like, in Northern CA, so I can put together a shopping tour for myself. Coastal, inland, mountains, all are fair game. Thanks in advance for your advice.

Specialty food stores?

I'm looking for the best specialty food stores, those stores that sell wonderful treats - chocolate, cheese and the like, in the Pacific NW so I can fashion a tour of the best of the best. Doesn't have to be just in Portland and Seattle, am open to everywhere. Thanks!

Lunch at 900 Grayson

900 Grayson is a neighborhood gift - great food, great service, and really good Americanos. Chris and Anthony, who run the front, are brothers and started their restaurant careers at Chez Madeline in Pt Reyes Station. Madeline is their grandmother. The prices are a bit steep, but worth it for the high quality food.

One more thing about Bittman's bread - Rose Levy Beranbaum's take on it

I've tried it twice now, once with cornmeal on the towel, and once with flour. The cornmeal worked better. With the flour, the dough stuck to the towel. Both times the kitchen was a mess from getting the dough into the cast iron pot. Flour everywhere! Crust was good, but not that different from my more 'normal' breads.
