Went to the Thorncliffe Zellers to get this pan as the branch is closing down, I found a broken handle that used to belong to the Bialetti pans . Upon examining the thick and robust looking handle, I saw that the casting that was part of the pan itself was less than half the diameter of a wooden pencil .Flimsy design and construction .FAIL ... Did NOT buy .

I come here almost daily ,its a 5 min. walk or 1 min bike . Yes they have empanadas and are good . I now shop the store as if it were my fridge .Truly a luxury for me. Their weekly flyer is well spread-out ,consumables wise. CLEAN is what this place is.Always someone on the aisles tidying up .Prices are decent .

MmmmmmBalut,...hahahaha brings back fond memories.growing up in the Phil. post supper snack akin to bedtime snack when feeling peckish..Its been like forty years since i last sampled this tasty treat and last month i revisited . . got it from a take-out place in Scarb ,Jocelyns is the place ,next to Remelys, a reliable place familiar to Filipinos in Scarb. had them at home and it was like riding a bike , no matter how much time has past, its like visiting an old friend.Ahhhhhh .crack it open , the balut i mean , haha sip the soup , then peel the rest os the shell and savour the rest . remembering to omit the hard inedible white part next to the yolk ,anyone know what it is ? i hope someday more people learn to treat this egg not as a challenge ala " fear factor" , but to learn to savour its delicious qualities unique in flavour as well in texture .So fellow CHers ,what do you think ? Not so different than your first time caviar- raw oyster - horse tartare or some amuse from Thuet ,cmone get over it ,and dive in I swear you will like it .You buy a dozen , if you absoloutely or even just not enjoy the experience ,, i will take the rest off your hands .hahahahh Hmmmmmmm Balut

I ignored the warnings by fellow CHers and paid the price. please ,if you have not entered yet , consider yourself lucky. turn around ,find another .your tastebuds will thank you. quality of the food is below par, the cleanliness is terrible and dont get me started about service.wait staff rank amatures. management very surly. dont know which is worse. i too sent head office notice of my bad experience at the Promenade branch. My wife and I vow never to set foot in that HOLE again. Toronto has way too many better places to dine than waste our time there. I have talked to several friends and have had similar experience. We will avoid the picklebarrel like the PLAGUE

hey, just my two cents, i have always found the baguette they use at all the Viet sandwich places ie. bahn mi , maybe exactly what you are looking for. Lots on Spadina but mostly all over GTA. per baguette is no more than .40 if i remember. they sell baguettes separately ,but if you have never tried the Viet subs , bahn mi , do yourself a favor, try the different configurations........hhhmmmmmmm viet subs ...very addictive..lol

Hi acd123 , like you , i too have a prefference for K evoo from alexfarms. after the last bottle had been emptied, the trip to SLM yielded zero. i was told at AF that they dont have anymore of neither K nor M oils. K for Kriti or Crete... M for Messina.. now what? these oil imho, were the best bang for the buck PLS HELP sugggs fellow CHs....

tried it yesterday, Saturday, and found the flavours and spicing similar to the best Gerrard,,little India has to offer. Tandoori Flame used to be the veg resto. Brar sweets. even their bill still shows Brar food culture. The branch on Dixie and Advance rd. is back with veg. buffet offering ,,,yay..

hi Foodiegal, Brars moved up the road to Orenda , bigger and nicer digs ,been twice at that location, but prefer Mavis location.

we had their lunch buffet Sat. and it was like loveindianfood said like "home cooking". everything was nicely flavoured,less spicier than what were used to,but perfectly flavorful. we will make this our new fav Indian resto. Khana Khajana
