Top 5 places in Key West area
We were just in KW last weekend. Very nice dinner at La Trattoria. Great service. We had a wonderful dinner at Cafe Marquesa. Fresh tasting dishes, yummy fish. They know how to make a solid drink with side car for your martini. It is a short walk off Duval, on Fleming. It was a nice break from the Duval strip. We also ate at our hotel's Hot Tin Roof. Very nice service, beautiful setting outside.
Tampa - Hidden Gems?
Try Iavarones crab pasta. Yum. Yum.

Anniversary weekend in st pete, dinner recs?
Just a follow-up to this original post. I did go to Fetishes. It was terrific! Bruce provides such service to his customers that it makes it a wonderful dining experience. The fish was delish and his wine suggestion was on the mark. The mandatory gratuity mentioned above is fair for this service. We also visited The Pearl. It was good, service was very attentive, nice atmosphere. Stayed at the Don Cesar where we had great breakfasts and an outstanding cheese plate for two that was plenty for lunch. We did not have another evening for the hotel restaurant for dinner. Thanks again for your recs!
Anniversary weekend in st pete, dinner recs?
Thank you all for your suggestions! Very much appreciated.
Anniversary weekend in st pete, dinner recs?
My husband and I are getting away to celebrate our anniversary for a weekend stay at the Don. We have reservations at Fetishes on one evening. Any recs for the other evening? Should we just stay at the hotel? We do not want to drive too far. Decent wine list is fairly important but food more so.
Any dinner recs for Ft. Myers/Cape Coral/Pt. Charlotte area?
The Perfect Caper, Punta Gorda. Chow worthy.
Waterbury CT Chow Report
Former Waterburian (now in FL w/no good pizza). Loved Vinnie's pizza in Middlebury. Amalfi's is good too. Bacco's is just a memory. I miss a cold martini at Diorio's on Friday... and of course their food. Carol Peck's Good News Cafe in Woodbury (I know, not Waterbury) is a fine chowhound choice. Her amazing seasonal menu suits everyone in your party. I grew up on the Lithuanian rye bread at the Brooklyn Bakery. Dark or light rye.D'Amelios is a great place for Italian food if it hasn't changed. Can you still get Militi's bread on a sandwich at Nardelli's? Yummy bread when fresh. Sweet Maria's bakery in the east end is a terrific bakery for special occasions.... I will be back for a visit...
What are your personal faves in the Tampa/St Pete/Clearwater area?
Restaurant BT in Hyde Park-Tampa
Cafe Paradissio (spelling)- S McDill-Tampa
Come on Tampa!!!!
We love Cafe Paradiso in south Tampa for Italian. Naples style italian. Chianti on 60 in Brandon is great. The owners are from NJ. Very good food, but wine list could be improved. Sushi Ninja in Bloomingdale (out here in the burbs) is yummy, simple sushi. Samuri Blue in Ybor is very good w/great people watching. Had a good meal recently @ Shula's (I know, chain but..) with excellent service. Six Tables was a wonderful personalized experience that I would recommend for special occasions. TC Choys is south Tampa is very good Chinese.
Blue Zoo; Dolphin Resort~ DisneyWorld
First time @ BlueZoo this weekend. Yumm Mee. Roasted beet/goat cheese salad very good. My husband had the sword, I had newer entree of baccala torteloni that was great. Only small disappointment was desert and they gladly took it off the bill. Service was top notch. Reservations needed even in this off season.
Tampa-Six Tables?
The Six Tables experience was great. Very intimate. The dining pace was perfect. The chef does customize dishes for each customer. You do feel special. The quality was very good and we were not disappointed. I would go again.
Tampa-Six Tables?
Have an upcoming reservation @ Six Tables in Tampa. Has anyone been? Feedback? Thanks.

Stone Crabs-Tampa area
Still newish to Tampa area and would love a good rec for a restaurant that serves stone crabs. Not picky about atmosphere just content. We have eaten at Joe's in Miami but want something close to home. Thanks!
Found Cheese in Tampa
This is not in Tampa but if you are in Sarasota- Morton's has a wonderful cheese selection. The shop is across from Fred's restaurant.
