two nights in vancouver

Aurora is great and Boneta is good as well but if I could only go to one place right now in Vancouver it would be
Uva Wine Bar and Cibo Trattoria, Moda Hotel, 900 Seymour St., Vancouver, 604-632-9560, modahotel.ca.
I have been to the Wine Bar many times and recently went for dinner in the restaurant and it is amazing. Run by a guy who used to work at Lumiere and the chef is from the River Cafe in London. Best meal I have had in years.

Decent pizza in Vancouver

Lombardo's on the Drive is hands down the best pizza in Vancouver. I just spent 3 weeks in Italy eating pizza pretty much non stop and they are the only one's that come close to the classic Italian style

Steveston Village, BC - good eats?

There are lot's more options than those previously mentioned. Tapenade Bistro is solid though a little over priced mediterranian/bistro influenced cusine

Blue Canoe right on the docks is new and pretty good value sort of a better version of earl's if you go for that sort of thing. Patio is great.

Papi's has a wine bar which is very nice with mostly small plates. Some are very good and some are just average. Better value than the main part of the restaurant which is overpriced and not as good as Italian you can get downtown

Spring Creek Ranch beef?

We buy it at our local butcher in Richmond BC and I think it is definitely worth it. The ribeye is the best steak I have ever purchased from a butcher.

Where to eat in Vancouver??? For an Aussie

Depends on your budget but for high, and I mean pretty high, West can't be beat. Cioppinos is very good high end Italian.I second the vote for Vij's. Unique and fun. No reservations but they feed you while you wait so the time passes quickly.

I still like Chambar as a great hangout relatively inexpensive room. And for a another fairly unique experience try Sanafir which is middle eastern/med tapas in a very groovy room

Salmon house on the hill a bit ho hum.

Essential Vancouver restaurants?

Chambar for mid priced ambience is bar none the best place in Vancouver and was recently voted as such by Air Canada Enroute magazine. Food is a mixture of Belgian with some morocaan influences(Moules Frites/Lamb tangine) and a great selection of belgian beers. Very warm room and always busy

Visiting Richmond from SF -- 1st dinner

might want to try Papi's restaurant but go to their wine bar attached to the main restaurant. For richmond it is pretty nice as far as this sort of thing goes. The charcutrie plate is very good as is the chicken hot pot. All small plates. Not everything is a winner but overall nice. wine selection by the glass with more interesting stuff off the menu if you ask
