Looking for reasonably priced, non-scene place for dinner with friends. Open to all cuisines.
Birthday dinner in Brooklyn
If you could celebrate in any Brooklyn restaurant, which would it be?
Sushi lunch in BOCOCA
I tried Koto for lunch today. The seaweed salad was very good. My friend had the sushi lunch special and asked for a tuna roll to be substituted for the california roll which they did with no problem. I had the maki combo which was very tasty. The service was very good with lots of tea refills. The only negative was the bad radio station they were playing. I will definitely return. By the way, it's BYOB.
Sushi lunch in BOCOCA
I've enjoyed Ki and Hibiro and have heard good things about the new place on Henry called Koto Steak and Sushi. What do people think of this place compared to the others?
Actually pretty decent Chinese on Smith
We ordered tonight and were very disappointed. The double cooked pork was extremely fatty and I couldn't eat it at all. The chicken with asparagus was ok and the dan dan noodles not great. They also forgot the brown rice. It was delivered quickly, but I'm sticking with Andy's.
Miami with kids
We will be in Miami this weekend with 2 kids ages 4 and 7. Looking for restaurants that are kid friendly and uniquly Florida. Lunch or dinner ok. TIA
Brooklyn Sushi place with nice atmoshere for bday dinner
I've heard great things about Taro, but does it have a nice/festive vibe? I'm in Cobble Hill and would be happy to go to Park Slope too. TIA
Old mushrooms
Just made mushroom barley soup with week old mushrooms. Other than being a bit slimey (I just wiped them off), they seemed ok. There's no danger in using them, right? The soup tastes great.

Lucali's
Anyone know what time they open on Sat. night? Does it usually fill up quickly? I've got a party of 8.
Challah in Cobble Hil or Carroll Gardens
The french place on the corner of Smith and Dagraw has it.
Recommendations for 40th birthday brunch for 6 on or near UWS
One of our group made a reervation at THe Terrace which I just coudn't do. From what I remember about that place, it seems more like a wedding banquet/stuffy scene. Looking for a fun, not too expensive place for 6 girlfriends to celebtate. TIA
