Where to eat in Niagara Falls, NY (US only, please)!
My wife suggested Murphys for breakfast. I have never been, but she says it's cute and her lunch there was great.

Don't miss Michaels on Pine Avenue. (3011 Pine Ave) Very cozy and a great place. And here is a decent site run by a local professor. http://www.cse.buffalo.edu/restaurant.guide/
I will keep trying to think of more. Breakfast I won't be of much help. I don't ever eat breakfast in that neighborhood.

A good local pizza place for dinner -- La Hacienda -- 3019 Pine Ave - - - I am a fairly recent NYC transplant to WNY and I enjoy their pizza. It's also a very popular local place.
Cafe Lola for lunch - -- 507 3rd st - - - It's a great upscale sandwich shop. For Niagara Falls it is unique. The restaurant next door is called Wine on 3rd and it is my favorite in the falls for dinner, but it won't fit your budget.
Where are you staying in NF? - - I will have some more suggestions when I know where you are staying.

River Oyster Bar - - Miami
Has anyone been here? - - - My wife and I are zipping down to Miami for a couple of days and this place is near our hotel and right up our alley. Any opinions would be appreciated about this place or anything else nearby.
Is there anything in South Beach that is not too hip with great food? I don't feel like packing a jacket, but will if necessary. Price is not an issue, but I appreciate value.
Thank you

Romantic Dinner - - Staying at the Sheraton on Queen St
We visited Lai Wah Heen earlier this year and loved the food, but the atmosphere was a bit too boring for a night away from the kids. I really like the look of Le Select. Thanks gang - - - Chowhound rules!

Thank you for the suggestions. We hit Mistura last year at this time and enjoyed. I will look into your other thoughts. By Herb Air I do mean the newfangled hipster outposts. I often enjoy chefs who push the molecular gastronomy, but just not in the mood to try that hard.

Romantic Dinner - - Staying at the Sheraton on Queen St
In town on Monday for some shopping and dinner - - - We are staying at the Sheraton and looking for something tasty and cozy. Price is not an issue. Would prefer a Toronto staple - - - something that doesn't disappoint. We eat anything and would love something Asian or French or high end italian. All suggestions are welcome - - we don't mind cabbing around town. We are not looking to reach deep into the chowhounders suggestions. "Herb air" is generally a turn off. We don't need to try that hard. Thanks gang.
Near Orlando Convention Center tonight? Any ideas
Any price range - - - Just looking for quality. I saw WA about 5 miles, but looking for a backup that is really close.
Buffalo - - Niagara or Erie County
I am looking for a small private room at a restaurant in Niagara or Erie County. We need seating for between 10-15 for a birthday dinner in a couple of weeks. I don't want to spend more than 75 per head so some of the higher end stuff won't be a consideration. We are open to any type of food. We heard the Red Coach in Niagara Falls had a room like this, but they just remodeled and it is now part of the reception area.
Any ideas will be much appreciated. Thank you.
Best Romantic Italian
This will be an early week dinner, so I don't think reservations will be a problem. As long as prices are commensurate with quality, then we don't have any issues. Please no restaurateurs with more than 2 places. We know the formula and we enjoy the formula, but I am not looking for a B+ meal from a high end factory. Thank you.
Dinner for Wife's Birthday - - Felidia esque in Toronto
My wife and I used to have a tradition in nyc going to Felidia in late December for her birthday. I would love to continue this in Toronto. I am sure there is something similar in the high end Italian world. Location is not really an issue, but we will be staying in the downtown area and don't really want to hit "the burbs" for the evening. We loved Felidia for the refined yet relaxed feel. This year we will not be drinking, so wine lists are not terribly relevant. Thank you all.
Kensington Market Area - - Great Food
I think I am going to go with Sukhothai for dinner and maybe Mother's Dumplings for lunch tomorrow. I appreciate your help. If anyone catches this, do I need a res for Sukhothai (i imagine they don't take) - - - And when is the dinner rush over? My band doesn't go on until 10.30 so i can push dinner. Thanks again.
Kensington Market Area - - Great Food
Coming in from Buffalo for Sufjan Stevens. Staying at the Hyatt Regency and going to Lee's Palace. Price is not a consideration, but we will be dressed for a concert. It appears Chinatown is directly north of our hotel. That might work, but we are open to all suggestions. We are casual / low key people with nyc tastes. I am leaning towards mexican (must be special), thai, chinese, or japanese.
Thanks for your ideas.
Buffalo to Cedar Rapids - - 90 and 80 - - Lunch in Cleveland and beyond
Buckeye Beer Engine was our choice and we loved it. Thank you all for your time and suggestions. I had the Tomato Soup and a Burger. Simple and Perfect. The vibe of the place was great and I wish I wasn't on a long drive. Great beer selections.
Where to eat in Buffalo?
About 2 miles north on Delaware is a place called Hutch's - http://www.hutchsrestaurant.com/
It has a great bar to wait for a table and they do take reservations. It is a younger crowd, but still upscale. Sadly, Buffalo does not have many places like this.
A bit further north on Delaware and a bit more refined is Oliver's. I have had a couple of excellent meals there. I would put them a notch higher on food, but I like the vibe of Hutch's more. Be aware Hutch's is not very large and dining can be a tight fit, but this is Buffalo, so nothing is every that crowded.
I would also send you to Mother's which is right around the corner from your hotel - - Lively after work atmosphere and solid staples. They do a good meatloaf, have had a solid veal chop and B+ steaks.
And if you want a great steak -- The Buffalo Chop house is the best in town. It's the closest thing you will find to a nyc steakhouse. Waitstaff is a little pushy, but they tend to be local college kids (not professionals) who just follow the script. Also close to your hotel.
I listed some of the higher end and easier to find places. Let me know if you have any specific desires and maybe I can help.
Green Bay for dinner
We will have our son - - almost 2 - - Just stopping through for a night. Looking for great a local spot that is on the casual side.
Buffalo to Cedar Rapids - - 90 and 80 - - Lunch in Cleveland and beyond
We have a drive coming up to see Grandma. Any food suggestions would be appreciated. Also trying to think of a place to stop midway through if anyone has any suggestions. We stopped in South Bend on a prior trip to peak at Notre Dame. Thanks for any thoughts.
At Kool Haus tonight -- Where to eat?
Unpretentious and food loving - dressed for a concert (Jack White / Dead Weather) and would like to eat close to the venue if possible. It seems like it may be a tough area for good eats, so we are willing to hit another part of the city if necessary. We are coming from Buffalo, so please no steaks, ribs, or Italian. We are always looking for Japanese or Thai or anything special. Thank you for your thoughts.
Lunch in Syracuse today!
Is Alto Cinco still open? The phone number does not work.
Is Pascales open? Phone is disconnected.
Any hound suggestions? Would love something close to the hospital.
Thank you.

Restaurants in Lewiston NY, and Niagara Falls NY
Hey there - - I just moved to Western NY from nyc six months back and have been hitting the local spots. I am excited to impart some local knowledge. The Wilson Boat House has a beautiful deck and is a great spot in the summer for lunch, dinner or an evening drink or three. But please don't expect to eat terribly well. Keep those expectations at a reasonable level. I will second the BBQ at the Brickyard. It's an inexpensive and tasty alternative to the standard chowhound joint. Across the street from the Brickyard on the main drag in Lewiston is a place called Carmelos. My wife and I have been 4 or 5 times since moving and it is our favorite local spot. The seared tuna is super (I was shocked too!) Don't get the octopus. My wife always orders the Bolognese, but that might be a bit heavy this time of year. There is also a new hotel down the street called the Barton Hill. They spent a ton of dough building that place and I have heard they do a brunch. Have not been, but it's the nicest hotel in the area and I would bet on a solid brunch. Also in Lewiston is Apple Granny's - a cute little sandwich spot that has been there for years.
I don't know Niagara Falls that well, so I will refrain from spouting second hand knowledge. Good luck and have a nice trip.
Chowhounder visiting Rochester, NY
You guys couldn't be more timely - - I am heading to Rochester tomorrow night for a concert at the Main Street Armory. Sushi is my traditional pre concert favorite. Are there any solid places in town that are convenient to the show? Thanks - - If not, the Mexican place sounds great.
Mulberry Street Italian
Go to Angelo's - - - Make sure you order the Speddinni (sp) appetizer. It is truly wonderful, but it's not hard to make fried cheese taste good. If you are with a group they will split up 1 or 2 orders in multiple plates. They also have many fresh pastas. Angelo's is not the best bang for your buck, but it's still a great meal.
Sripraphai for the novice -
Again - I thank everyone for the help. It was much more of a mainstream restaurant than I expected. Both the food and the vibe reminded me of Nha Trang down on Baxter Street. (cleaner and more american) Anyway, Drunken Noodles with chicken was off the charts. I think that was the favorite. We tried the Soft Shell Crab special, but I am not a good judge of those. (all taste the same to me) Pork Seasoned with Garlic and Pepper (0-7) was a little bland, but good for the picky folk. We had a BBQ Pork App which was great. Still moist and sweet. The Watercress Salad was solid and accessible to all at the table. We did not get a whole fish, but everyone else in the place had one and that will be on the agenda next time. The Beef Penang Curry was wonderful as well. It was an easy trip and parking wasn't a problem at all. (gotta love getting 30 minutes for a quarter) It took less than 30 minutes from the UWS and less than 20 on the way home. Thanks again -
Sripraphai for the novice -
I have been poking around the board and I see many a list of "must trys" for the seasoned chowhounder, but I am going tonight for my first time and I am wondering if there are some staples for the not overly adventurous. What are the great dishes for a beginner? Thank you!
Post Softball - Game is 28th and 10th - Help!
Obviously some won't be dressed. There will be about 6 or 8 of us looking for food and drink at about 7pm. All ideas welcome. Thanks gang!
Up-uptown burger
Also a Pipers Kilt in Eastchester with a great Westchester Burger. I assume they are related, but I don't know. Thanks for the post.
Little Italy. Best of the tourist traps?
Angelos is great- - Directly across the street from Taormina where Big John used to sit outside and eat all the time. Order the Speddini appetizer (overpriced just like everything else), but it is a flavor unlike any other. That lightly fried mozz with bread crumbs and an olive oil caper sauce. The flavor will knock you over. - - - They also make their own pasta. It's my "goto" for a little italy trip.
Restaurant suggestion for 8 fun but not too expensive?
Landmarc in Tribeca - take a peek
