Need to make reseveration for 3 pple for 4/18 @ 7:30 and everything is booked! Any hidden gems?

I have my mother in law coming in from bumblef@@@ and wants to eat dinner in NYC on Saturday night at 7:30 - its next week 4/18 and all the places I have thought of are booked.
Any suggestions of hidden gems? I am open to anything but French and nothing that is priced like le bernandin.

I have thought about going to Babbo and waiting for a table but not sure if that will work out.

Please help!

Where do like to go to sit outside and eat in Westchester/Putnam

The best place is The Red Hat in Irvington. They have a patio that overlooks the Hudson and a roof terrace that also over looks the river.. Good food too.

Hudson Valley Garlic Festival

I went 2 years ago. Its a lot of food boths set up in rows. There are people selling homegrown veggies (including garlic), jams, wines and other organic products. I was not overwhelmed by the garlic of it. ITs like a county fair with garlic.

Incredible Seafood in Greenwich CT - Crab cakes to die for

We celebrated a birthday dinner at the Elm Street Oyster Bar (13 West Elm Street Greenwich CT) and it was wonderful. The crab cakes melted in your mouth and the rest of the food followed suit. My husband had a gorgeous paella with half a lobster and other seafood. I had shrimp and scallops with tri color ravioli, bok choy, brocollini in a champagne cream sauce. It was as good was it sounds. Dessert was a lovely classic and tart tasting mini key lime pie. They have many unique beers on tap and are a very small place (seats around 36 or so) it was nice to have dinner in a place where you can hear yourself talk and enjoy incredible food. I highly recommend it!
IF you go - try a crab cake for me

Place for dessert and coffee in Westchester

Jean Jacques in Pleasantville is lovely - they have some late hours.

Meatloaf and Real Mashed Potatoes?

Great meatloaf and real mashed potatoes at the Bayou in Mount Vernon. I also like the veal meatloaf at City Limits - its a favorite. I am a picky meatloaf person since I like my own best - but those two are great.

Restaurants with Vegetarian Entrees? Where are they hiding?

we ended up having dinner at Rosie's Bistro Italiano in Bronxville. Excellent place. They have tons of choices for everyone. My father the veggie had this fresh pasta with frizzled leeks and garlic. I had mussels, various seafood and pasta. Everything there is consistently great from the bread to dessert. Parking can be a pain sometimes but its worth it.

Restaurants with Vegetarian Entrees? Where are they hiding?

I am having a hard time finding restaurants that have vegetarian entrees along with meat/chicken choices for the non-veg. Just called Red Hat in Irvington and they had none - they offered to combine some side dishes but that wouldn't cut it. One in Irvington had a pure vegetable "souffle' dish but those always turn out to be veggies in a boring crust.

Any ideas of restaurants in Westchester (upper or lower) where a veggie can eat with carnivore friends?

Cheesecake to bring on plane!

S&S is number 1

Taking a out of town grandma out to dinner in NYC around the west side?

We are taking our 85 year old grandmother from suburban Illinois out to dinner tonight. She is not a fan of asian food. We want some place that won't be too loud ...The west side is preferred btw 55 - 85th

Any suggestions?>

Places to Eat Goat

Little India

blue hill vs. blue hill?

You have to go to the Country one. It is superior - do the tasting menu. If you get there early enough can you tour the farm too.

Any Korean BBQ suggestions?

Little Korea or K-Town is on 32nd st between 5th and Broadway. Great places there. The best is Dae Dong (I think that is the spelling) Really enjoyed it. If you like meat try the Beef or Pork Bulgogi.

Local Produce - Meat - Dairy - Farmer's Markets

Just moved to Northern Westchester and I am looking for the fresh food! Where can I find a great Farmer's Market (i know they will open in June). Also looking for local goods - any suggestions?

I tried Mount Kisco Seafood this weekend - Excellent selection

Quogue, East Quogue, Hampton Bays, Westhampton, etc.

Belle's is a lot of fun at the airport. Also in Hampton Bays there is a place on the water called Oakley's - its pretty good - casual atmosphere and fresh fish. If you like Italian deli's you have to try Scotto's in Hampton Bays on Montauk Highway. Scotto's sells great meat and chicken for BBQ's but they also make fresh delicious pizza (to take out). They have great Italian stuff.

Also Michaelangelo's (two sites near westhampton) is good for decent Italian.

Baby Moon is also a great Italian/pizza place in Quogue on MOntauk highway.

Mexican/Central American in Westchester County

Avoid Casa Maya.
The best stuff in in Port Chester - Restaurants from all over south and central america. Good Mexican places there as well.

Looking for Spanish Peppers/Grocery in Westchester or Bronx

I had tried to A & P and a local latino grocery in Mount Kisco bothof which had a diverse selection but they carried mostly Mexican and Carribbean food/spices. I need Spanish - I found a place downtown NYC. I'd prefer to stay in the burbs since I live here.

Thanks

Looking for Spanish Peppers/Grocery in Westchester or Bronx

I have a great Romesco recipe I got in California but I need Dried Nora chiles and (jarred) piquillo peppers. I can't find any Spanish grocerys in Westchester - any ideas?

Bakeries in Westchester? Need a great loaf of bread

I am looking for a great bakery in westchester where I can get a fresh loaf of good bread.

Any suggestions?

Having Brunch at Blue Hill @ Stone Barns - worth the drive from NYC?

It is worth it. I have had dinner there but not brunch. The food is fresh and perfectly seasoned and sauced.

Westchester restaurants

For great Sushi in westchester you have try Sushi Mike's in Dobbs Ferry. It has the best rolls in westchester. We used to go to Sazon in Ardsley but Sushi Mike's is the best. Rosie's in bronxville is amazing - always great food, service and specials. They have creative dishes as well as great standards. I have had great Thai in Thornwood (Swaade) and in Ardsley (Thai House). Swaddee has a great lunch buffet option as well.
