Does anyone know if they're going to manage to open up the stands at the Red Hook fields this weekend? I don't see anything on the myspace site, but I'm contactless today and easily distracted.... |

Does anyone know where to get these little bottles of bitters in New York? They're from Germany. I love all varieties of bitters in general, but I was intrigued by these after reading about them in a recent New Yorker article about hangovers: http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/20... You don't just splash these in a glass of seltzer or tonic water. You drink the entire little bottle. After reading the same article, I need to at least try Irn-Bru and Bovril, too. |

My actual craving is for Creole Cream Cheese... but I want to make my own. Where might one find rennet in New York City, preferably Manhattan? Recipe linked below for anyone curious. We're doing a creole Christmas this year, and it's sparked an interest in all things creole. |

I thought I'd answer my own question, in case anyone else wants to make tamales - the teeny tiny Zaragoza Mexican grocery has plenty of them on the corner of Avenue A and 13th street. They also have dirt cheap and very tasty homemade Mexican food and are really friendly folks. |

Hi folks. I'm making 50 or so tamales this evening and am having trouble finding husks in Manhattan. Kalustyan's had only a handful, but I am using their delicious house brand of masa harina. Can anyone recommend a place to get a LOT of corn husks in the city? Thanks. |

Hi folks. Quick question: Does anyone know where to get unpitted prunes in New York? A friend needs them for a recipe. I seem to recall a couple of different places folks have discussed here in Brooklyn that seem like they might be possibilities but whose names I've forgotten. Anyone seen them in Manhattan? |
