Casual, dog-friendly outdoor lunch somewhere between Frederick and Frostburg?

Just off I-70 in Middletown MD is a Greek restaurant called Aleko's attached to a gas station, I have never been but I know they have outdoor picnic tables and I have heard the food is really good.

Recommendations for Dinner for Large Party in Frederick?

Brewer's Alley has a private room upstairs and also a fairly large separate dining room downstairs. Monocacy Crossing has room for private parties too. Home at Braddock Inn is a very nice venue for parties.

Black Hog Barbeque in Frederick

Adding: I'm pretty sure they aren't local to Frederick, else the glimpse of the logo that I can see would sound familiar to me.

Black Hog Barbeque in Frederick

Sorry. I just went through my photos from the fair and I have a picture of an older gentleman in a blue t-shirt, cooking ribs. One sign in front says "These ribs are sooo tender you don't need teeth" and the other says "best pulled pork" but I can't see the logo on his shirt. I do see a root beer stand also. Sorry I couldn't be much help.

Black Hog Barbeque in Frederick

Hemp's Meats is from Jefferson MD. They are always in the same spot, next to the beef cattle barns. They usually have the longest lines.

Not sure what other vendors were there this year.

Black Hog Barbeque in Frederick

Was it the Hemp's Meats stand? That's the one that usually has the longest line.

Frederick Maryland

The Cuban place is called That Cuban Place. The bbq place is called Black Hog. The Indian place is called Nilgiris. Frederick has a lot of great restaurants. Check out the local Frederick blog, particularly the Food and Drink section:

Historic Frederick, MD - BYOB Restaurants?

Not exactly in the historic downtown, but Alexander's in Buckeystown sounds perfect for what you need.

Rehearsal Dinner recommendation near Sugarloaf Mountain area (Frederick, MD or Gaithersburg, MD)

I second Monocacy Crossing.

Best lunch in Frederick, Md.?

Cafe Kyoko closed a couple years ago. It's now a restaurant called Quynn's Attic. By the way, it's on East Patrick St. I like Quynn's but have never been for lunch.

Cafe Nola on E. Patrick is good for sandwiches. Isabella's is great if you like tapas (get the asparagus!) The Tasting Room is good, but it's very noisy if there are a lot of people there.

Volt, Table 21: Komi, MiniBar Have Met Their Match

No, it was a small two top set right between the kitchen and the prep area.

The first time we went, we sat in the front dining room so when we went in October, we requested a table in the chef's kitchen. Unfortunately, a large group had reserved the entire kitchen dining room. While we were trying to decide what to do, the manager set up this table right in the kitchen for us. At first, I thought we were horribly in the way (it's not a large area) but I soon realized the kitchen ran so smoothly that they just worked around us.

Volt, Table 21: Komi, MiniBar Have Met Their Match

We had the pleasure of eating at the kitchen table last October before it was called Table 21. Back then it was just "the best table in the restaurant" and we had a choice between the 5 and 7 course menus. The kitchen is amazingly quiet and efficient and Bryan was extremely accommodating to changes in the menu (I don't eat red meat).

Littlew1ng, the sign issue has to do with the fact that the VOLT owners scraped off the "Professional Building" sign to better see their own signage. It's been a bit of a to do with the Historic Preservation Council which makes no sense to me since the building was originally a private mansion and not a professional building. Hopefully that's all blown over. The HPC is vital to maintain certain aspects to downtown Frederick but this was a non-issue IMO. By the way, we aren't all a bunch of bumpkins up here. Come on up and stay in Frederick. for the day. You may be surprised by how much there is to do and see up here. There are plenty of us here who appreciate VOLT and all the other fine restaurants and shops in Frederick.

Frederick, MD - John Hagan's

No, Hagan's Tavern has closed. I'd suggest parking along either Market Street or Patrick Street and walking leisurely through town scoping out the menus which are displayed out front. The variety in downtown Frederick is such that something should appeal to you. It would be hard to go wrong anywhere. Isabella's is great, Firestone's is pretty good (although I haven't been there for lunch in a while). Also, Cafe Nola, Quynn's Attic, Danielles, Brewer's Alley, Lucky Corner for Vietnamese...way too many to mention but all good. Check out the food and drink section of a local Frederick blog:

Dinner near Weinberg Center (Frederick)

Yep, every First Saturday. If you are not familiar with Frederick, parking is a big problem and all the restaurants are packed! It's great for the city but confusing for people who don't know how to get around. The same thing will be for you on the first Saturday in May. I'm pretty sure that most restaurants don't take reservations for that night either.

Dinner near Weinberg Center (Frederick)

By the way, Frederick celebrates First Saturday every month which means that downtown is packed with people in the evenings starting about 5PM (especially if it's nice weather). If you can, come early and walk around to see who has an available table. That may be what makes your decision for you.

Dinner near Weinberg Center (Frederick)

I think Cafe Nola would be your best bet. It's just across Market St. on East Patrick, so about a block from the Weinberg.

Wedding reception held at Linganore Wine Cellars in Mt.Airey. Any recommendations for bar or restaurant for an afterparty?

Mealey's has gone out of business as of this past Sunday.

Morgan's in the New Market shopping center (rtes 144 and 75) would probably be closest.

Help! I need a Fredrick, MD restaurant

G Hunter's has gone out of business. It closed a week or so ago.

Monocacy Crossing in Frederick

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Monocacy Crossing. It's my favorite restaurant in Frederick and it doesn't hurt that it's very close to my house. The food is always great and the prices are reasonable, especially for the good quality and the attention to the preparations. The scallops appetizer is my favorite. We've gone dressed up for special occasions and have gone in shorts and t-shirts and sat out on the patio during the summer. We never felt out of place either way.

Frederick, Maryland Happy Hours

Just about every place downtown has a happy hour. Just park on one end of Market Street and walk up and back down the other side. It's only about 6 blocks. Best bet for Margarita's would probably be Cacique or La Paz.

Frederick, MD or nearby?

It's interesting reading this old post from 2004. Since all of these recommendations, Emma, Zest and the Brown Pelican and Tauraso's have all closed. The spot that was Emma is now a German restaurant called Henning's. Since 2004, Zest tried moving from Monrovia to downtown Frederick on S, Market St and failed. It's Market Street location is now an Italian restaurant called Il Porto (there's one in Montgomery County as well). The Brown Pelican location is now a Bodega, Tauraso's old location is now called Danielle's.

Best raw oysters in Leesburg or Frederick?

G Hunter's in Frederick has a raw bar. I haven't been in a while but when I did go, the oysters were delicious.

Indian food in Frederick

There are three Indian restaurants in Frederick that I can think of. Nilgiris, Bombay Grill and Clay Oven. I'm sorry that I don't know enough about Indian food to tell you whether any of them are specifically Southern Indian. I haven't been to Clay Oven but if I had to choose between the other two, Bombay Grill would be our favorite.

I can't find a website for Clay Oven.

Casual dining between Frederick, MD and I-95?

Monocacy Crossing is the kind of place where one can feel comfortable dressed up or down. It's a great special occasion place but also a very easy going every day place. The servers are all dressed casually and the patrons are in all manner of dress. You would do fine there dressed casually.

Monocacy Crossing

My favorite restaurant in Frederick County!

The scallops appetizer is delicious (good bread too). They almost always have a fish special so check that out. The pork tenderloin is good and my husband always enjoys the steaks. I'm allergic to crab so I can't speak personally, but my parents loved their crab cakes. I'm not sure if they've changed their menu recently so check their website, monocacycrossing.com.

Forget Frederick, MD for Sushi

It's a very pretty restaurant. I've had the vegetable sushi there and I highly recommend the sea bass. I'll be curious to hear what you think of it! I think I'll steer clear of Edo!!

Forget Frederick, MD for Sushi

Where's Edo? I've never heard of it. I'm not a sushi eater, but have you tried Hinode, the new place that opened last year on Carroll Creek?

Mountain Top Diner in Fred. Co.

There's a Mountain View Diner in Frederick and Mountain Gate in Thurmont. I don't think I've ever heard of Mountain Top.

Sunday brunch in Frederick or thereabouts.

The only places I can think of in downtown Frederick that serve Sunday brunch are Acacia and Firestone's. Acacia is probably the nicer of the two, but they are on the same block of Market St. so you can compare. Firestone's brunch starts at 10AM, while Acacia's doesn't start until 11:30.
