Where do you get your lamb spieducci?

Well that sure looks like a magical place! I'll have to stop in on Friday when I'm in town.

The speducci shown in the video is the same size as Vicentina's product.

Where do you get your lamb spieducci?

I used to get mine at Vicentina Meats up in Vaughan, but recently the Fortinos in Burlington started stocking their product. They work out to 50 cents per skewer if purchasing a larger quantity (i.e. 60 or more).

All European Meats Closing Sept 26 2014

Did they actually close, or just move to the warehouse north of Dundas, just off Wharton Way?

Kimchi in Burlington?

Where can a girl buy kimchi in Burlington? The Fortino's at Appleby and Dundas used to carry it, but they've had supply chain issues and no longer do... I really do not want to go to Hamilton to get some.

Etobicoke sushi - takeout

I really like Pearl Sushi on Lakeshore & Superior. Fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. It's a little hole in the wall, but really good.

Mimico, New Toronto & Long Branch restaurants - revised thread!

While I agree that Sliders' beef burgers are bad, their jerked chicken burgers/sliders are tasty.

Finding Meyer Lemons

I've been seeing them in all of the major grocery stores in Burlington for a few weeks now.

Odd Dinner Guest Mix

That's hilarious about the rennet. My vegetarian won't touch jello, but eats cheese like it's going out of style!

Odd Dinner Guest Mix

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think I'm going to go with the mushroom lasagne or the mushroom bourguignon. The vegetarian is a huge fan of mushrooms, and they bring a certain "meatiness" to the dish that the rest of us carnivores will appreciate.

Hmmm. Maybe some sort of mushroom lasagna. That would be good!

Odd Dinner Guest Mix

I'm having 3 friends over for dinner next weekend, but am stumped as to what to serve.

One will eat anything and is gladly my guinea pig when I experiment with new dishes. The second is a vegetarian. The third tends to avoid red meat, and will not touch anything on the bone.

The best idea I've come up with so far is chicken fajitas. Vegetarian can eat veggies and cheese fajitas.

Any better suggestions?

ISO Asian Supermarket Oakville/Burlington

Hmmm... Their website only shows locations in Mississauga and Brampton.

ISO Asian Supermarket Oakville/Burlington

Rather than starting a new thread, I figured I'd top this one.

Are there any Asian grocery stores in Burlington yet?

You have $10 for a meal, where do you go in Toronto?

Mmmmm. Speducci! Theirs are the best.

Late Night Panzarotti - West End

They seem pretty far from me, but I guess with Just Eat they might deliver here. Too bad they don't have a create your own option for the panz. None of the ones on the menu grab me.

Thanks for the reco though. If we decide to eat downtown, this will be an option.

Late Night Panzarotti - West End

I have guests coming to town on Tuesday and they have their hearts set on Amico's panzerotti. To my chagrin, it's CLOSED on Tuesdays.

The plan was to order delivery after the concert (midnight-ish).

I suppose if worse come to worst, we can try to get to Bitondo's before it closes, or the Dip as a last resort. But, delivery is far more preferable.

Any suggestions for places on par with Amico's and Bitondo's that deliver to the Royal York and Queensway area?

Le Creuset vs. Le Cuistot [moved from Toronto board]

I'm torn between coughing up the money for a Le Creuset or saving on Le Cuistot.

I scored what appears to be a near flawless seconds 5.3 litre round dutch oven for $200 at Home Sense last night, but once I got it home, I realized I probably need something larger and oval so it has more versatility.

Best price I've found for a 6.3 litre oval is $280. Same size Le Cuistot's are about $120 at Kitchen Stuff Plus. Is the $160 difference worth it?

Opinions appreciated.

Where to buy Kimchee in Etobicoke?

Oh yeah!! I totally forgot about that place. Thank you!

Where to buy Kimchee in Etobicoke?

Too bad the tubs are so big. I would have given it a go.

The Korean restaurants are a good idea. They'd probably sell me some if I asked nicely. ;-)

Thanks!

Where to buy Kimchee in Etobicoke?

I'm lazy and don't feel like heading into Koreatown/Downtown to buy some kimchee.

Does anyone know of a store that sells it in the south Etobicoke area?

Apple Cider in Toronto?

Thanks for the input all. I stumbled upon The Apple Market (Store?) on the Queensway near Hurontario this aft and managed to score some Wellesley brand apple cider. There were only 3 jugs left in an area that looked to have held at least 50, so hopefully that means it's some good stuff.

Apple Cider in Toronto?

I was just at the Dundas and Jane Loblaws and had no luck.

Kagemusha, I have seen other threads about the 905 orchards and will travel if I must. Thanks for reminding me!

Apple Cider in Toronto?

Where can I buy regular, non-alcoholic cider in Toronto? I've been to a few grocery stores but none carry it. Is it more of a specialty store item?

Suggestions for Dinner Alone on a Sunday or Monday Night

Unfortunately I have nothing to report on where I went or how I liked it. I came down with a cold and was holed up in my hotel room the past 2 days, ordering delivery and room service.

I did have a quite delicious pizza from Ranalli's though. ;-)

Interesting. The response I received to my request last week was a hard and fast 'NO':

Good evening,

I will be in Chicago on December 2nd and am wondering if you can accommodate single diners. I tried using your ticketing tool, but the option was not available.

I dined at your restaurant last year with a colleague and have been looking forward to visiting again, so this opportunity would be welcomed.

Audrey

Good morning,

Thank you for inquiring about purchasing tickets to Alinea. As it stands, when you purchase a ticket to Alinea, you are actually purchasing a table, which is why we typically do not offer single tickets or tickets in odd numbers. You may certainly dine with an odd number of guests, but the price at which the table is offered will not change.

I will most definitely check out the Facebook page to see if I have better luck there. Thanks!

Hmmm. Maybe that's the way to go. Get rid of my reservations and just try to get into a restaurant in order of preference the day of.

Sunday:
Alinea
North Pond

Monday:
Tru
Sixteen - I also tossed this one around
L2O
Spiaggia

Thanks nsxtasy!

I was waffleing between L2O and North Pond and went with L2O because Monday is a little more convenient. I have them both booked now and will try to decide, unless you have a definitive answer for me. ;-)

I had looked at Tru, but nothing is available during my stay. Spiaggia is too expensive. I could buy that table for 2 at Alinea for that price. lol! Oh, and it didn't seem that Naha had a tasting menu.
