Sushi in South Jersey

There was a time when Medford, NJ, did not have one decent restaurant. Now there are a few. The newest is Peter's Sushi Cafe on Route 70. First of all, the presentation was breathtaking. The food holds the picture of umami. UMMMMMMMMMMM. I had the dumpling soup (yummy, firm dumplings, firm seaweed and broth with body) and the most delicious Spider Roll ever! My husband had the Philadelphia Roll and Tuna on Tuna. Both fabulous. Our son had Tempura Udon. He said this meal was the best he'd had. I highly recommend Peter's Sushi Cafe.

Late Night Romantic Dinner Saturday or Sunday

We will be staying at the Gaylord for a convention and look to find absolutely fabulous real food. All recommendations will be appreciated and considered. GRC

Need a dessert idea for Christmas dinner

Red velvet cake with cream cheese dressing served in thin slices. I served this at Thanksgiving along with all the traditional desserts and my family has insisted it be served at Christmas as well. A small daloop of whipped cream with fresh raspberries as a plate decoration served with coffee or port takes the guests to meal-nirvana.

What poultry/seafood to serve with a ham?

Lamb....good thought. I've never served it at Christmas; but, then I've never served ham at Christmas. Are you suggesting serving it like an Osso Bucco?

Wine to compliment ham

I've been asked to serve ham for Christmas dinner; what wine is good with ham (what wine will not be ruined by ham)?

What poultry/seafood to serve with a ham?

Jambalya..........excellent idea. Would be able to start it early and let it sit while I actually relax. Thanks.

What poultry/seafood to serve with a ham?

Christmas eve at my sister's will be roast crown of pork, hence, my reluctance to add another pork entree. Though, maybe beef ribs......marinated in coffee and burbon. Could create a "southern" feeling. Good thought, thanks.

What poultry/seafood to serve with a ham?

I was thinking about duck, but am concerned about the richness of it with ham and scalloped potatoes. Any particular way you cook duck that cuts down on the richness?

What poultry/seafood to serve with a ham?

My youngest son has requested a glazed ham for Christmas dinner. I need to select another main dish for those non-ham eaters among us. Is there any alternative to turkey?

Accompanying the ham: scalloped potatoes, roasted green beans with pine nuts. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

West Side Family Restaurant

Thank you for this recommendation. Our reservation was invaluable on a very crowded day in NYC. We were seated immediately.

In the future, I would request the back room; but sitting in the front room was fine until 2 hours into our sitting when our view included the waiting line.

Thank you for this recommendation. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at San Luigi's. From appetizers to gelato, everything was wonderful. The highlight was the pasta special - a broad noodle in a delightful light pest-cream sauce with mushrooms, chicken & proscuitto. My guests raved about the pasta vodka, pasta with broccoli rabe & sausage, penne & meatballs, fish of the day and the minestrone soup was exceptional. Service was exceptional (which these days means professional). The gelato was very good; though, we were so full by the time dessert was ordered, I am not confident that we could appreciate the gelato fully.

The only thing I would have wished for was a wider selection of Chardonnays. Italian restaurants typically under stock this wine.

West Side Family Restaurant

I'm looking for a nice place to enjoy dinner after a day at the Museum of Natural History. Eight or nine adults and 4 boys 10 & under. Grille or Italian; my brother-in-law has a limited palate.

Thanks.

Thanks, chica. Life is too short to waste on a bad meal.

Breakfast, lunch & dinner VB, Malibu, LA uner $100

My husband and I are traveling to Los Angeles with our 18 year-old son next week. We are staying in Venice Beach, want to go to the Getty, into LA and Malibu. We love good food and would like to sample as much as we can in 4 days.

After LA, we will be spending 5 days in Palm Springs; I would appreciate any ideas for that area too.

Thanks.
