NEWLY Closed/Changed 2015 Restaurants in Toronto, July 1 - end of the year 2015

The Landlord (Cadillac Fairview) has already done a deal with a new restaurant to replace them. They bought out the lease in order to do so.

What to expect visiting prince edward county wineries as a first timer?

I think that you will find this website very helpful in planning a self guided tour on the wineries in PEC.

PanAm - food related events/extended hours/etc?

Every single thing I've seen spells it Pan Am (including your link to the St. Lawrence Market website).

PanAm - food related events/extended hours/etc?

While that looks interesting, I don't think it has anything to do with the Pan Am games.

St. Lawrence Market - Voluntary extended hours for Pan Am Games INCLUDING SUNDAYS!

Just noticed a sign at the market saying that they are extending the hours for the Pan Am/Parapan Am Games from July 7 to August 15:

Tuesdays to Fridays - 8:00 am to 8:00 pm
Saturdays - 5 am to 5 pm
SUNDAYS - 10 am to 5 pm

When I asked one of the vendors about it, she told me that it was voluntary so if you go, don't expect everyone to be open.

RUMOUR - McEwan selling to CARA??

Has anyone else heard the rumour that Mark McEwan has sold his restaurants to CARA?

The New Cibo Ready to Open

Just to clarify, The Liberty Group is a Canadian company, but the President, Nick Di Donato has lived in Miami for (quite?) a few years. He is originally from Toronto and spent many years in the restaurant business here.

Cappocaccia any reviews?

Been around for years. Decent neighbourhood Italian place, but not worth going out of your way.

Downtown Toronto ??

Where are you staying and when will you be here? I live downtown TO, and though I don't keep kosher, I spend my day in my car so would be happy to deliver some "real" kosher food to you before shabbos. I hate the idea of you eating only pita and fruit and unless you're bringing your own pita, I actually don't know if you'll be able to find kosher pita downtown.

Kanpai Snack Bar

I have a "ZERO PATIENCE MANDATE" unless the restaurant is discounting their prices or offering free food or drink. If you need to "work out the kinks", do it on your dime and not mine. Sorry but that's the reality. If you're OPEN FOR BUSINESS, then make sure that you have your equipment working and your staff trained.

Because of this, I WILL NOT patronize any restaurant that has been open less than THREE months. That's my choice.

Let the flaming begin.....

Need suggestions for healthy snacks for a road trip with colleagues

Four work colleagues will be spending eight hours in the car this week, 4 hours at a time.
Trying to come up with some ideas for healthy car snacks. Any suggestions?
We will be leaving from home (i.e. not flying some where and then driving), so hopefully that opens up the options!
Thanks.

birthday dinner

Richmond Station. They will do an "informal" tasting menu and will be happy to cater to your dietary restrictions.

There's also Buca Yorkville, which seems to be focused on fish/seafood.

Hiro Sushi/Kotobuki Sake Bar

After being closed for a full renovation and expansion (doubled in size), I saw today that Hiro Sushi has reopened, with Kotobuki Sake Bar seeming to take the front part of their new space (I didn't have time to go inside).

I haven't been to Hiro in years, but it seems like the menu is still focused on omakase. The reviews in the past few years haven't been great, so hopefully things have improved.

I've attached a really blurry picture of the menu. Omakase starts at $45 pp.

Completely new to grilling - useful for weekdays, quick dinners?

Seems to be a bit more oriented to charcoal grills, but this might be interesting reading - http://www.seriouseats.com/2012/04/th... . Also lots of interesting links to follow.

AYCE Chinese: Any recommendations?

Dragon Legend and Dragon Pearl have the same ownership.
