I've been searching for these in the SF bay area, and haven't had any luck finding them. Safeway does not have them. Does anyone know if any other stores are carrying them? Thanks!

The best thing your school cafeteria served
When I went to high school in the early 80s, the cafeteria had awesome chocolate milk shakes that were so thick you had to eat them with a spoon (25¢) – this may sound weird, but they tasted really good if you ate them with Fritos corn chips. The garlic bread was also amazing (10¢) and really yummy, greasy french fries (25¢). Those were the days . . . of great metabolism!

Do you mean "Violets" which are square shaped, and come in a silver and purple foil wrapper? I love those! Fortunately, I can still find them in some obscure news stands in SF Bay Area!

Beef & Noodles - Diner Style
I make a dish like this at least once a month.
In an deep casserole dish mix:
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can white wine
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 envelope beef boullion
2-3 pounds stew meat or I cut up a 2-3 pound chuck roast
Stir ingredients well, cover and bake in 300 degree oven for 2 hours. Thicken the gravy if desired with a water and flour mixture. Serve over buttered noodles -- your house will smell unbelievable!

Stoffer's had it in the frozen section, and I used to love it, but it's no longer available in the SF Bay Area. Darn!

Here's another situation -- I think it's ridiculous that there is a tip jar at Starbucks, etc. Does that mean we should tip at McDonald's as well?
