PHILLY suggestions good food AND good local beer

This sounds great! I love gastropubs! I'm super limited on my research time -- could you let me know which of these suggestions are in downtown, or an easy public transportation trip from downtown. We will not have a car. THANKS!

PHILLY suggestions good food AND good local beer

I'm headed to Philadelphia and am searching for relatively casual dinner places with moderate to high prices and a selection of local beers on tap. I love good food and good craft beers. I will have my 5 and 11 year old children, but have no problem bringing them to restaurants that aren't necessarily considered "kid-friendly" (ie. Planet Hollywood and other yicky chains). We are staying downtown -- a few nights in the Sheraton in Society Hill and a few nights at the Windsor Suite near Logan Square.

THANKS !

GIFT CERTIFICATE RECOMMENDATION IN SEATTLE

I'm seeking ideas for a Seattle restaurant to get a gift certificate to for a couple who like good food, but aren't super adventurous. Not too pretentious, and not too fancy. My ideas are Le Pichet, Matt's in the Market, Campagne Cafe, or Union. Please comment on these and/or suggest others. THANKS!

"self order" or "to go" food in san diego

I just posted asking for fast-food style recommendations in San Diego. I should clarify that I don't mean McDonald's, but rather places with great food that you stand in line at a counter and order for yourself. With the great fish tacos and mexican in town, it seems there are some "must eat" options in this category. THANKS for recommending your favorites.

San Diego "Fast Food"

Hi All-

Please give me your suggestions for fast-food style establishments in San Diego. With the great mexican and fish tacos it seems like there are some good choices. I'll look thru the boards too, but it is hard to sort thru them all for fast-food style places. I don't want to miss any "must eats" during our trip next week .

GOOD FOOD SUGGESTIONS IN SAN DIEGO

Hi All-

We are headed to San Diego next week, and seek suggestions for good food -- any style, any meals, and any price except not too fancy as I will have my 4 and 9 year old along. We will be staying in the Mission Beach and Paradise Point areas, but will have a car and will travel for good eats. I previously posted to ask for microbrew and food ideas, and I got plenty of great beer ideas, and now just need food ideas! After all, you have to eat breakfast and lunch too. So let me know of your San Diego favorite eating establishments.

THANKS!

GOOD FOOD AND BEER SUGGESTIONS FOR SAN DIEGO

Hi All-

Please help me with suggestions for good food in San Diego! We are headed there next week, and will be staying just outside of the downtown area (Mission Beach, Paradise Point), but will have a car. Open to all types of food for all meals, but extremely fancy places are out as we will have our kids (4 and 9 years old) with us. We also are microbrew lovers, and welcome suggestions of brewpubs or restaurants with good selection of local taps. THANKS!

Good eats in Tacoma?

Thanks for all the input folks! One more question -- breakfast spots, ideally within walking distance of our hotel (marriot downtown)?? What about Affairs -- I know it's not walkable, but is it good?

Good eats in Tacoma?

wow -- awesome info. Some of the other places that sounded interesting that I stumbled upon from a chowhound search are El Campadre, Rock Pizza, Asado, Steffie's, Vuelve a la Vida, Parkway, and the Spar. Care to comment?

Good eats in Tacoma?

Hi All-
We are going to Tacoma next week for a few nights, and are looking for good food! Have to take the kids though, but doesn't have to be "kid friendly" in the sense that they have an extensive kids menu. We will be staying downtown at the Marriot without a car, so needs to be reasonably accessible by public transportation. Preference for brewpubs or places with good beer selection, but we have to eat breakfast and lunch too!

GOOD FOOD IN THE DELLS?

Hi All-

We are going to the Dells in a few days, and are seeking good food! Have to be able to take the kids though, but trying to avoid the chains unless they are worthy. PLEASE HELP!
Brewpubs are ideal, but other than that any style of food will work.

need advice about Laurelwood in Portland

I am headed to Portland this weekend with my 3 year old and 8 year old. From my research into a good place to take the family to have dinner and sample good portland beers, I came up with the Laurelwood. But I am wondering which location would be better? We are staying downtown, so the NW location would be closer, but the Hollywood location may be better suited for the family?? We will be going late afternoon, early evening on Friday. So maybe driving out 84 to Hollywood should be avoided during rush hour?

Thanks!
