Lunch for about 15 people near LIRR station in Bayside?

I need to find a restaurant in Bayside that can accommodate about 15 people for lunch that is within walking distance to LIRR train station, has a quiet atmosphere and decent food. Is that too tall an order? Thanks in advance!

Restaurant recommendation for tourists, this weekend

We're visiting Boston this weekend, staying in a Back Bay hotel, and would like to know what restaurants you Boston area natives would recommend to 2 tourists from NYC. We eat all types of cuisines, love ethnic food, don't want to go to any place too stuffy and too pricey. And, since I'm first gathering information on Monday for this coming weekend, I suppose that recommendations should not be to places that are known to be booked at this point in time. I know that I am placing a tall order but hoping that you'll come up with some great places. We've never been to Boston and one of us is about to celebrate a special birthday. Thank you very much!

Lower East Side Bar - Good for Groups?

I recommend Clandestino on Canal and Ludlow. It is next to Les Enfant Terribles.

Chanterelle?

My husband has made reservations at Chanterelle to celebrate a very special birthday. I'm curious as to opinions on the restaurant. I haven't seen a thread or a comment on the restaurant in quite some time. (BTW, the other suggestion my husband made is Il Mulino. However, the restaurant never answers the phone so it seems impossible to get a reservation. And, yes, I know comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges.) Thanks in advance for input.

Lunch in Tribeca?

I'd appreciate recommendations for lunch in Tribeca. I'm meeting with a friend but we're discussing a possible business venture. So I'd prefer it to be on the quiet side and that we are not rushed. We're open as to fare; thinking $30pp. Thanks.

Dinner near Grand Central?

I'm getting together with 2 former co-workers for dinner on Thursday evening. One prefers midtown, convenient to Grand Central. We haven't seen each other in years so we'd prefer a place not too noisy with a simple menu. Any suggestions?

Mexican food in or near West Hollywood?

Well we'd prefer if the food is good. We ate in Yamashiro last night so we'd like to have a better meal. What about Frida's?

Mexican food in or near West Hollywood?

Would like to eat Mexican food tonight, staying in West Hollywood. We don't want to drive too far and would need to be at a restaurant that does not require reservations. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Yamashiro - Quelle Horreur!

I'm in Los Angeles for the first time, visiting from NYC, and a friend from NYC suggested that my husband and I go to Yamashiro for dinner. So we went last night. I expected a trendy place with a great view and great drinks because of the person who recommended the restaurant. However, I found Yamashiro to be an overpriced tourist trap with a good view and good service (from an aspiring female actor who is Caucasion btw). I thought the food was awful, just awful. I am appalled that my trendy, hip friend would recommend this place to eat.

Restaurants in West Hollywood

Hi! We're visiting Los Angeles at the end of July and staying at the LeMontrose Hotel in West Hollywood. I'd appreciate restaurant recommendations for any meal (breakfast, lunch or dinner) in the area of the hotel. In addition, if there are any restaurants in any other part of the Los Angeles area (we'll have a car), I'd appreciate recommendations. We like ethnic food (Middle Eastern, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Thai). Thanks so much!

Coq au Vin and Cassoulet

We ate dinner at Park Bistro night before last with 2 gentlemen from Jura and a woman from Marsailles. We all loved the food. The Frenchmen ordered steak, rare, and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had the coq au vin. It was quite tasty. I had monk fish and it was delicious. The only hitch in the evening was that the service charge was taxed but when it was pointed out to the staff the check was changed promptly. I'd go again to this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely.

Vegetarian Gluten-Free Restaurant Rec in East Village?

I second Angelica Kitchen. You can't go wrong there.

Lower LOWER East Side

It's Casanis, not Casini, at the corner of Ludlow & Broome. You could try Clinton Street Bakery which is on Clinton & Houston and not too far a walk from Grand Street, east of Essex.

Middle Eastern food in Brooklyn

Would someone recommend good middle eastern food in Brooklyn? We used to love Fountain Cafe on Atlantic Avenue but the last few times we were disappointed. Thanks.

Buying spices

There are 2 Middle Eastern specialty food stores across the street from Sahadi's on Atlantic Avenue. I don't know if they sell small quantities but if you are in that neck of the woods the stores are worth going into.
