Looking for a venue for small wedding ceremony/reception :: 60 people

i dont know if you can do the ceremony there or not- we only had our reception there but we were 72 ppl and it was perfect.
ours was at Chez Queux- it's a restaurant in old montreal and upstairs is a beautiful reception hall. doesnt look like your reg white reception hall. it's brick with oak panelling..it's lovely.

Bofinger - west island - my review

well maybe it was an off day - as I liked it so much better than Bar B Barn.

Bofinger - west island - my review

Last night my hubby and I went to go have ribs at Smoked Meat Pete's as we live out that way and they are good. well at quarter to seven it was already standing room only. So we left. I told my hubby that I had heard of this good bbq food place in the west island called Bofinger. Off we drove to sources blvd. Now I was not impressed with the decor. This place certainly isnt fancy. the hockey game was on and was a bit loud. You go up to the counter, place your order, leave your name, seat yourself, and they call you when it's ready. But oh my goodness was the food good!!!!!!!!! first time in a long we have tried somewhere new and been that impressed! the fries were made on premises, so was the coleslaw. the ribs were big, meaty, and tasty. I would definetly recommend it. So the next time you want good eats in the west island, go to Bofinger :)

pho-bang new york or pho-vietnam?

Okay i saw that someone on here put the pho-viet had opened up where pho-bang new york was, but then why do they have different addresses?? one is located at 900-something st laurent, and the other is 1000.

so are they the same place or not?

Montreal restaurant recs for 50-person wedding?

if you have 60 ppl or more, Chez Queux is where we had our wedding reception. they have an upstairs reception hall but they did require a minimum of 60. it was absolotley lovely. it's got such a great atmosphere to it. not just another white reception hall. and the food was good too. not expensive either...$35 a person before drinks for a 4 course service..we served quail.

Trattoria Tasso in the West Island

and absoloutley terrible service! I won't go back!

La president - for dim sum in ville st laurent

Fave chinese restaurants

for an inexpensive chinese lunch I like mon shing it's next door to beijing

they have great wonton

Drinks for 30 ppl??

I run a website in montreal (www.meetin.org) that meets each month. We haven't had much luck to find a good place for drinks where we can easily mingle with each other. Each place we have been to recently- has put us at a giant long table. The problem with this is then people don't move around. I'm looking for somewhere that would give us a whole section, or has a pub type atmosphere where we could easily move around. Decent food, and drinks would be great too!

any suggestions??

sushi anyone

I like kanda sushi. they have 3 locations. one downtown on bishop, one somewhere on queen mary, and one out in the west island on St jean's. it's between 19.99 - 23.99 all you can eat. it's a la carte..not a buffet and it's good.

(just because you pay $80 for 2 for sushi - doesnt make it good.)

good place for a large group to mingle?

I run a website www.meetin.org that has a monthly meet n greet. we usually end up being around 25-30 people. everyone wants to be able to move around and talk. so far we have been to vol de nuit, coasters at la cite, and recently we tried ye olde orchard pub in ndg. Ppl like to eat..so vol de nuit loses. Coasters is the easiest one to mingle at but people seem to be bored of it and it is a bit of a walk from the closest metro. Ye olde orchard everyone loved the food, but it was too small and we were rather stuck in our seats. I'm looking for suggestions where we could meet, eat, drink and mingle easily.

thanks

happy hour in the west island

I'm looking for somewhere to have my website go out for happy hour in the west island. I run a meetin montreal website and it has been requested that we have at least one event once in awhile on the west island. so please don't answer me with there's nothing so go downtown. if anyone knows a good place and has the information on the happy hour it would be appreciated.

anyone heard of boomers?

thank you,

Great wonton soup in Montreal

try mon shing in chinatown
90 rue de la gauchetiere just west of the intersection between La Gauchetiere and St.Urban.

they have the best wonton in town in my opinion; and they are the only place in chinatown that has it's lunch specials 3.95- 6.95 on weekends. you get a small bowl of soup, your main dish, a spring roll, rice and tea for prices starting at 3.95. it's all very good; just dont order the scallops.

Sauerkraut and Turkey

funny my family background is german and I have never heard of that.

After X'mas meals.

for new years we fondue

we have a cheese fondue
followed by an oil fondue
followed by chocolate fondue

it's great to do with a few good friends or close family members

real vs. fake foods

mayonaise is just as "real" as miracle whip

Le Keg

it may be a chain restaurant - but that doesnt mean they are all the same. Out in a little place near vancouver, bc- (town of maple ridge) there is a keg restaurant that is better than any other keg I have ever been in.

good place in montreal for large group - bar/restaurant/cafe..whatever

any other suggestions?

pub/bar/tavern-- near a metro but not downtown- good for a group

I run a website called meetin montreal and I'm looking for a place to hold our monthly meet n greets. I want somewhere that a group of 20-25 ppl could mingle with each other and not get stuck at a giant long table.
I have recently had it suggested to me that people would prefer a place a little away from the downtown scene. Somewhere the metro takers could easily get to, and that wouldn't be so hard for the rest of us to find parking.
is the monkland tavern a good choice? or ye olde orchard grill on monkland??

do you have any suggestions?

good place in montreal for large group - bar/restaurant/cafe..whatever

I run a website that has meet n greets each month. I need somewhere in montreal-- easy to get to by metro that can handle a group of lets say 15-25 ppl and will allow them to mingle. I dont want to go somewhere where we have to sit at a giantly long table. Nor do I want some place really loud. the website is about making friends so you have to be able to talk to each other. Currently our meet n greets are held at coasters bar and grill at la cite..which is a pretty good place i'm just trying to vary our locations a little bit.

thanks,

Krista
