I drove by a newly opened Indian restaurant on the North side of Kingston Road, West of Morningside but can't remember the name.
They have a huge banner up with a website address...

Fun Wedding reception.. Toronto Harbour Cruise boat?

Hello!

My new fiance and I are wracking our brains to come up with FUN and unusual wedding reception ideas.

We are both in our early 40's and this is not a first wedding for either of us. Rather than a 'blending of families', our wedding is more a celebration with our friends.

One idea we have is to have the reception on a harbour cruise boat. Has anyone been to a wedding on one of these boats? If so, what was the food like?

Any one else have any unconventional reception ideas?? :)

OMG! I'm getting married! Need a great romantic restaurant for the reception!

Wow! What great suggestions everyone! It's quite a small number for a wedding...but we still want to have that 'reception' feel...I especially liked the look of Trattoria Fieramosca (Thanks Joyce and Steve!), but will have to spend a weekend out visiting and noshing soon!

We are having a small wedding (25 people) next fall and are looking for a very romantic restaurant for the dinner/reception. Our guests are mostly from Toronto and in their 40's...so they are used to eating GREAT food!

We have looked at Auberge du Pommier but they are quite pricey! We are not cheap just hoping to find a few other alternatives!

I am going to be celebrating my birthday on Sept 20 by seeing Spamalot at the Cannon. Afterwards we are meeting friends.

I'd like to go to a GREAT Italian resto with an outdoor patio (smoker!) either near the theatre or between there and Union Station.

Cheetal Indian in Scarborough?

UPDATE:

We have now ordered from Cheetal twice. Both times it has been VERY good! We have enjoyed their vindaloos, the chicken tikka masala (MY fave!), palak paneer, baingan bhurta, samosas, pakoras and pappadums.

We LOVE the food and the prices! Definitely order for home delivery! It arrives hot and the staff are friendly and helpful.

We are SO grateful to have found this gem!
