Bob Oreilly's Profile

Unbelievable that this NYC pizza place gets little or no recognition?

I agree they do make a great slice at Lee's......

Need restaurant recommendation by Bowery Ballroom

Hey now! Going to check out a show this Tuesday at Bowery Ballroom and wanted to know if anyone had some solid places they could recommend in the immediate area. Thanks!

Best GYRO???

I certainly agree with PlomeekSoup in regards to Avli on Bell Blvd. in Bayside. I often work in the area and everything I ever purchased at Avli has always been great, fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly as well......

Where do I go now that LaNell's has closed?

When did it close? That is terrible news, but I guess like many retail shops in Red Hook, it's such an inconvenient neighborhood that many could not utilize often. What a shame as that place was a mecca of bourbon and customer service!

Any must haves at Blue Ribbon Brooklyn?

The fried chicken is my absolute favorite dish there with the bone marrow a close second....sure it is pricey but one bite and I always forget that!

New take out Chinese on Bell Blvd. Bayside

just opened up on Bell Blvd right next to the Cheesesteak Factory, believe it is at 38th Ave. anyways, did enjoy my Wonton Soup-- always a gauge for good take-out in my opinion, and had two dishes which were both nice, the Lo Mein and the Chicken in garlic sauce. Nothing unbelievable but very good for a quick take away meal....

NY TIMES Dining Out 5/1 Seven New Sandwiches

great article and great reference for chowhounders has anyone else tried any of these great creations I have checked two off my list so far and am excited to eat the rest the knish press roast beef version is awesome I thought it would not be enough but it is filling and tasty a must for deli lovers and then the dumplings at Kai Feng Fu Dumpling House are too die for great meal and great prices by the way tried the knish press at their bayside location if you are into backyard space they have a sweet one

Tastiest restaurant on 5th Ave. Park Slope??

all the places mentioned are great choice but all on the $$$$ side, on the cheaper side try bonnies for wings, press195 for great sandwiches, rachaels taqueria for a quick inexpensive Mexican fix, Gorilla coffee for killer strong coffee, coco roco for cheap rotisserie (sp?) chix to go, la villa for good brick oven pizza...

Press 195 in Queens-Disappointed

I have heard nothing but great things about this place and after reading Mcheck57's post I was a bit skeptical....are you sure you were at the right restaurant?....I went yesterday man this place was awesome the staff could not have been friendlier, food great, especially the fries...i asked the server and he said they were Belgian fries...(better than any Belgian place I have been too) and like all others here yes the beer selection is killer, imagine Harpoon Brown on tap at a store on Bell Blvd...times they are changing here.....finally a unique cool place to go to perhaps you should give them a second chance i have already planned my next meal there and cant wait to take my friends....

Biscuit - AVOID....

Both Biscuit and Bar BQ are some of the most awful ideas of bbq I have encountered......God bless good PR!!!
