Kogi
Los Angeles, CA, Los Angeles, CA
Lake Street Creamery

Rajin Cajun
There's a farmer's market there in Plaza El Segundo every Wednesday 10am-2pm. I've seen the truck there sometimes, and they may only be there for 2 hours only. You may want to look for them on Twitter for their schedule.
Los Angeles coffee - I'm calling you out (many boos, and one hooray)
Blue Bottle coffee is now being served in LA, by a cafe called Forage in Silverlake, which is only a block away from Intelligentsia. The coffee is made the same way as in the Bay Area...freshly ground and hand dripped. They were serving the Three African blend and also selling PNG Tribal Aromas when I came in two Sundays ago.
Nickel Diner ?'s....
I went there for dinner just for the bacon doughnut...they were out :( I loved the mac and cheese. Although I didn't try it, you guys have to get the smores cake. It gets torched tableside...nice presentation and the wait staff seem to love torching it.
For others who will be driving to downtown for the diner, there is a lot for parking on the same block...closer to 6th St. Another reminder that most streets downtown are one way.
bob's big boy.
One will be opening in Northridge, the corner of Nordhoff Way and Corbin Ave. It's in the same shopping center as the Target.
Lots of Animal - Little Vegetable & No Mineral
After reading about the food at Animal. I too finally got to taste it all last night. There were five of us and we ordered 8 appetizers and 2 entrees, 3 desserts and shared. The best dish for us was the barbecue pork belly sandwich. And tied for second, were the pork belly with kimchi, and oxtail gravy fries. The best dessert was the dulce de leche tres leches cake...very moist...probably the best I've had.
I loved Animal and will definitely come back next time to try the quail fry and ribs.
Best Milanesa Sandwich in Valley?
Cemitas Poblana at Taqueria de Don Adrian (Victory and Kester in Van Nuys)...the beef milanesa is the best.
ISO Chicken Wings -- all kinds ...
Wing Stop has very good lemon pepper wings. They have various locations in LA.
alcove cafe and susina bakery?
I can't really answer your question, but I know that the Alcove do not bake their own cakes, and they have more than one supplier.
Chocolates in Dallas
I'm visiting the Dallas for one week and I would greatly appreciate any recs on specialty chocolates in the area. I've heard of Noka chocolates...what do you think?
Three Flames Mongolian
This was back ten years ago when I was a student at UCLA, you pay for a bowl. And you can file on anything on that bowl starting with the meat, the veggies, then noodles, and the guy will add the flavoring for you, such as soy sauce, garlic, lemon water, etc. Since you can only fill the bowl one time, they were filed high. Another trick is when you have someone else with you, you can use the other persons bowl to squish down the sliced frozen meat (doesn't sound that sanitary, but it get cooked right away, not much time for the bacteria to grow). Memories!!!
Big wok is all you can eat, and you can come back several times to the buffet line to get your fill.
Playa Blanca - El Segundo
I work nearby, so I had it for lunch today. Although I'm not an expert on Peruvian food, I liked the food and would return. I really enjoyed the ceviche Playa Blanca, mixed seafood, for appetizer. The aji verde that comes with the bread is really good. I also enjoyed the bisteck a lo pobre, although the rice it came with was a little chewy.
Next time, I want to try the jalea nortena, mixed fried seafood. I think that it would be really good with the aji verde.
Where could I buy those mochi balls that they put in Pinkberry's Shaved Iced Yogurt
I'm glad that thread is started. I've been searching for those mochi balls, and I have gone to most of the markets mentioned above. I must be looking in the wrong section. Which section of the market are they located?
Best chocolate cake in L.A.?
Any of the Claimjumper restaurants have the cakes, but call a couple of days in advance that you want a three or six layer cake and they'll have it ready. The 3 layer is around $25 and the 6 layers is around $50. The price may have gone up, but with the size of the cake it is a bargain.
Red Velvet cake please...
Hotcakes Bakes on Centinela and Washington in Culver City has really good red velvet with buttercream icing.
Feedback for Cafe Sevilla Sunday Brunch in Long Beach?
I am planning an event. I'm considering Cafe Sevilla in Long Beach for their Sunday brunch, and that I haven't been there before. I would really appreciate any feedback on the quality of the food that's offered.

These definitely need defending
Tito's
Nippon Ramen
The Bear Pit
Empress Pavillion
Claimjumpers opinions?
I'm surprise that no one mentioned the mother load cake, six layers of chocolatey goodness. You can also order the cake for a birthday party in 6 or 3 layer form.
Belize? (moved from SF)
This will probably get moved.
Next month, I will be going to Belize. Which cities/towns did you visit? Any restaurants or certain foods you would recommend?
Favourite birthday cake idea or recipe?
It seems that you like to bake. But if one year you're feeling a little lazy, you can always go out and get the different sizes of Cinnabon and tower them to make a cake, and extra frosting to drizzle on the mound. Just add candles to decorate.
