Turducken in Bklyn?

Had Turducken Last Year (Or maybe it was 2 Years ago) at NOLA Restaurant Across the Street from Methodist Hospital (On 7th)...That place is Now a Turkish Restaurant...
Any Ideas on where I might have Turducken this season?

Pizza Hangout - Bensonhurst

I've stopped by there a few times for a quick lunch, they do an EXTREMELY Thin Crust (Almost Crackerlike) But I really Like it!
I've only had the Margherita, but they make all kinds.....
They don't sell by the slice, but rather by the "Quarter Pie" which is 2 slices :P
I give it a Thumbs up.....Anyone else care to chime in with their opinions???

2151 Bath Avenue (Bensonhurst)

GREAT SQUARE!

I had a SUPERB Square at KORNER Pizzeria (Kensington) Today!...Damn it was Good.....
A Corner Slice (My favorite)...This ain't no "Grandma" Square, Its Almost breadlike, Fluffy & light with Crunch on the edges and Just enough Cheese. This was My Neighborhood Pizzeria Growing Up, so I am Biased, But L&B is my Neighborhood Pizzeria Now, and I'll Take a Korner Square over L&B's ANY DAY!
Just HAD to write about it.....

Turducken???

Anyplace in Bklyn/Staten island area serving it this year?
I had it as a special at NOLA on 7th Ave. Last Year, but they Closed......
Checked the BAYOU (Staten Island) Menu online, but no mention...
any Suggestions? (And please don't tell me to get one or cook one myself!...It Ain't Happening!) ;)

Recommendations? Start with oysters on half shell, followed by steak

My last Visit to Old Homestead was over a Year ago....Had Oysters and a Medium Well Ribeye......Almost Crapped my Pants on the Train ride Home...BAD SCENE!!!!!!!!
And 2 others in my party of 6 had the same experience.....
I'm Not telling people to stay away from old homestead......Could've been a bad night.......Just saying, watch out with the Oysters :(

Recession Eats!

It's the CULT of DiFara's.........

ISO new favorite Chinese restaurant in Sheepshead Bay/Kings Bay

For Takeout (Though I guess you could eat at one of the small tables there) We used to always order from PEKING on Nostrand Avenue, across the Street from Pathmark. Great Noodle Soup with REAL Wontons

Carmel Apples in Brooklyn

The Place to go is the candy Store Next Door to NATHAN'S in Coney Island.
I believe they are open YEAR ROUND, and they make everything there...caramel Apples, candy Apples, Chocolate Dipped Marsmallows, Caramel Corn......
Don't know the name...but you'll know it when you see it!.....
I know a good Dentist by the way ;)

Brooklyn Pizza Recommendatons

I guess the Real question is WHERE in Brooklyn did you grow up?
I'm sure he'd appreciate seeing where YOU liked to eat Pizza while growing up, instead of dragging him to the "Hip/Famous" place NOW. (Unless you grew up in Midwood eating DiFara's)
I did, in fact, grow up eating slices at DiFara's while walking home from Midwood H.S....Maybe I was too young to appreciate them then...Or maybe I'm just not a Sucker for the Hype..(I think his slices are pretty Oily...GOOD, but Oily). My personal Favorite was my Local Pizza Joint "Korner Pizzaria" on East 3rd & Church Avenue...It's the Pizza I grew up with, conjures up good memories, and Good Slices :)

La Villa Mill Basin Burned Down?

Any News on this?
I Heard that La Villa and The Asian Fusion Place both Burned down in that Shopping Center on Sunday!!!!

RUMOR: Cafe Scaramouche closing

Actually saw it Listed on CRAIGSLIST of all places!
But what would B.R. Guest want with a storefront that far down Court!?

DiFara's Closed by DOH, where can a pizza-lover go?!

DiFara's is/was a Mom & Pop Pizzaria....I remember stopping there for slices, in the '80's, on the way home from school...long before the hipsters & bloggers thought about lining up around the corner......

I grew up on Korner Pizza (Church Ave. & E.3rd)...even joke that I personally financed Tony's (one of the owners) Corvette in thge Mid-80's....But like the poster said, this is a Mom & Pop place, in the neighborhood over 30 years, they've watched me grow up, and I've watched them grow too... nothing SPECTACULAR (no homegrown basil & oregano carefully placed on each pie, etc....) But Good, Quality, thin Slices & Sicilian's. Sure, Ecuadorians are serving the slices, and they've added Beef Patties to the Menu....but look in the Back, and you still see "Mama......now Grandma" Stirring the Sauce.

Lundy's Rumors!

I Just got a call from my Mother In Law who said she heard on some Brooklyn News that Legal Seafood is planning on Opening up on the Lundy's Site in Sheepshead Bay!

My wife heard that it would be an Outback......

Anyone have any info on what's may open up there?

The Old Brick cafe (New!) on Church Ave, in Kensington

Aaahhh, DENNY'S,
Where 16 year olds can share a drink with 60 year olds!!!!
I used to meet up with my friends there before hopping the F Train into the City to hit Limelight on Sunday Nights!!!!
I was 22...they were 19.....
I Miss the 90's

Tempo Presto

Wife and I had a Great dinner at TEMPO earlier this year, and when none of the desserts on the menu excited us, we asked if we could get some of the "Oreos" from Presto...The Waiters went to the back and got us 3 or 4 cookies for Dessert!...They are always "to Die For" Unfortunately, we were charged something like $6.50 for a dessert of 4 "Tempo Presto Oreo's".....
Oh well......

pastrami in bay ridge?

...Back to Pastrami.....

When I worked on 75th we used to Take Out from Mejlander & Mulganon a Norweigen Deli that made an AWESOME Pastrami/Corned Beef Sandwich with Coleslaw on it!!...YUM, My Arteries still curse me!
