Savor Saigon in Levittown is out of business.....!!!!

From what I heard this was not due to financial issues, there were other factors involved and it was planned. Sad to see it go, best seafood noodle soup!

Best Sushi in the Philly Burbs

Have to say that we were not at all fans of Cho Cho San. Service was good, but the layout was like a take-out place with tables and some Japanese pictures. All of the sushi in the rolls was pounded to oblivion and warm. Spicy tuna had no taste, in fact everything pretty much tasted the same. Mt Fuji (in Southampton and Newtown both) was a pleasant surprise, sushi is always good, even on Southampton's half price night. Service is always good. Oishi in Newtown is very good as well.

Why can't we get a Wegman's in Philly?

Princeton Wegman's is by far the worst of the ones I've ever been to. Warrington, Bridgewater and Mt Laurel blow it out of the water in customer service and atmosphere.

Why can't we get a Wegman's in Philly?

They are open 24/7 in towns that allow them to. If they like the area, but are not permitted 24/7 they open 6a-12mn. You'll see that in several Jersey stores.

Where are you getting your Turkey's from?

I've heard of Griggstown Farm, never had their turkey, how is it compared to premium store bought? What about Lee's Farm? Any idea of a fair price for a fresh turkey?

Best Sushi in the Philly Burbs

You must have been to Minado on a bad night. Certainly better than a supermarket, and most times very good, especially for what it is. Very clean in serving areas, food is fresh, and raw oysters taste fresh, Large amount of Asian/Japanese clientele should speak for the place. When we're in the mood for variety, and especially to mix the cooked and salads we head there.

Oishi in Newtown and Sagami are favorites. Mt Fuji in Southampton and now Newtown surprised us.

Langhorne Chinese

Chinatown Cafe is what you're talking about. Ming's on business Route 1 in Langhorne is closer and just as good if not better.

Wegman's has beer!!!!

Is the mark-up on beer as outrageous as in most take-out spots? Prices at NJ Wegmans are like their grocery products, some prices are great and some outrageous.

Best Sushi places in Bucks County?

Oishi is our favorite in Bucks as well.

Vice Versa

We are trying to make a decision re: where to go for our anniversary dinner. We are going to a show after, so we are limited on time and distance. We decided that we would like Italian food since we went to Italy for our honeymoon. We were thinking of going to Vice Versa, but lately have been hearing greta things about Basso 56. Any thoughts?? Thanks !!

Need Opinion: Vice Versa or Basso 56

We are trying to make a decision re: where to go for our 10th anniversary dinner. We are going to a show after, so we are limited on time and distance. We decided that we would like Italian food since we went to Italy for our honeymoon. I know CHs always recommend V V, but lately we have been hearing great things about Basso 56 and their menu and prices seem great. Any thoughts?? Thanks in advance!!

Special Dinner

Hi. Thanks in advance for the suggestions. We will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on a Sat night in November. We have theatre tickets at 8, so we would need to eat earlier and have time to get to the theatre. We would probably want to go with French or Asian, but could also do Italian. We just want it to be something special in terms of food and atmosphere (but more casual and less "stuffy"). Within walking distance of the theatre (seeing Billy Elliott) would be better, but doesn't have to be. As far as price, well, it is our 10th anniversary, so we can splurge! Thanks!!

10th Anniversary Dinner

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! We are narrowing it down. I think we would probably want to go with French or Asian. Just not too "stuffy" in terms of atmosphere. Since we are splurging for our 10th anniversary, price isn't a big concern. We were thinking we would do pre-theatre and want to try for something within walking distance but doesn't have to be. Thanks!!

10th Anniversary Dinner

Trecolori is great, one waiter in particular. We went there for wife's parents' 50th, so we'd rather go somewhere else. Budget is not a concern per se, but we would like someplace not so "stuffy" (no reflection on any prior suggestions, they are definitely in the ballpark).

Worst Beer Ever?

Worst ever would be BEER (someone's got to remember that generic garbage). Close second Red, White & Blue. Genny Cream Ale had its' place if you were an upstate NY college student.

10th Anniversary Dinner

The only limitation is making the curtain. We've been to Trattoria Trecolori our last couple of times and enjoy it. We would like something a little more special if that gives you an idea. As I said before we have no particular preference in terms of cuisine.

10th Anniversary Dinner

Hi all. We have tickets to a Saturday performance of Billy Elliott for Nov. 1 (our 10th Anniversary). We'd like to find a special place for dinner that night and would welcome any suggestions. No particular preferences. Thanks in advance for your help.

We will be at the Minskoff. We had to keep the whole day/evening "family friendly". Not our first choice of shows and restaurants but needed something for everyone!

Trattoria Trecolori

Thank you so much RGR and Financial. Enjoy your meal - looking forward to hearing about it....and someone tell them to update that website!!

Trattoria Trecolori

Hi. We just want to make sure that it has a good atmosphere for a celebration dinner and that we wont be too cramped in with 9 people. Any comments after you go would be really appreciated!! Thanks!

We will be seeing Lion King. Thanks for everyone's input so far. Please keep the suggestions coming!

Trattoria Trecolori

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has a photo of the NEW Trecolori interior. The pic on the website is of the old space. We just want to make sure it is going to work for a special celebration dinner. Thanks!!

Does anyone have a photo of the new Trattoria Trecolori?? Just wondering what the interior looks like. Thanks!

Thanks again for al the help!! OK, after debating the pros and cons all night, we are now thinking that maybe we should stay within the theater district and go for a fun, more casual atmosphere where the kids can "eat" and where we won't be rushed. We are leaning towards Trecolori for those reasons. The website makes it look dark and narrow. I am wondering if that is the new space or if the pics on the website don't do it justice. Can you comment on the atmosphere at the new location?? Thanks again!

RGR, Thanks ...We just checked out Town's menu and website. Wow! Looks delicious and certainly has the atmosphere we are looking for. We are definitely considering it. Our only hesitation is that we wanted to stay in the theater district (Tickets to a matinee) but I guess it would be walkable or we could just spring for a cab. Also, do you know if the kids have to eat from the Prix-fixe menu or if there is also a regular menu they could order from??

We are also considering dbBistro. Really impressed with the menu and looks like the kind of atmosphere we are looking for.

Any other ideas in the theater district that would be similiar in price/atmosphere??

Thank You so much everyone for all of your help!!

We looked at it. What else would you suggest??

I've been checking out menus all morning. What do you think of West Bank Cafe??
Thanks again!!

7, 13 and 17 (Actually, I guess we have 2 teenagers and 1 child!)
Italian would probably be best but I think they could find something if we did French or Seafood. Our big dilemma is finding a place to accomodate 9, that is appropriate for the ocassion, not far from the theater district but where the kids will be able to eat!! We checked the menus for L'Impero, Compass and dBBistro. Although they look great, we think we will have difficulty feeding the kids. Maybe something more casual and fun that still has very good food??Thanks!!!!

Thank you so much for the recommendations! Everything looks amazing and my husband and I want to go back and try some ourselves. The problem is this - we don't think the kids will find anything to eat off the menu, especially the prix- fixe. Any other ideas for a special occassion place that we can great food and 3 kids can still find something to eat (They are adventurous eaters-just not that much). Thanks!!!!

Need Help Planning 50th Anniversary Dinner for Parents

We are relocated NYers who are now PA chowhounds and somewhat out of touch with Manhattan places. Would really appreciate suggestions on a place to celebrate our parents 50th wedding Anniversary. We will be 9 people (3 kids but well behaved) and will be having an early dinner after seeing a show on a Sunday. Our parents are pretty modern and eat in NYC alot so we want it to be really special. We were thinking of Marseille, but have been there before for a special occasion dinner. Have been to Le Rivage and Le Madeleine and enjoyed them but not sure if they are "special" enough. We are figuring we will be spending up to $100 per head for the adults and would probably be looking for French, Italian or Seafood. Also considering dbBistro, Vice Versa and Trattori Trecolori. We would appreciate ANY suggestions!! Thank you so much for your help!!
