honey on pasta?
Variation on a theme - 30 years ago an Italian friend shared that he always added honey to the ricotta in his lasagna recipes...I've been doing that ever since and ALWAYS get rave reviews!
Upscale in Tulsa?
I'm headed there next week - did you get to try any of the suggestions or do you have any to add? Many thanks!
Skyline Chili Fix via the Web
For non-natives, Cincy Chili suffers from an unfortunate misnomer - because it's not what most people think of as chili. It's not chunks of meat or hamburger with beans - it's thin, like gruel. My Philly-born husband had rejected it for over 20 years always complaining that "it's NOT chili" so I told him to just think of it as Greek Spaghetti - now, he likes it Mikey! Janet is right it IS an acquired taste; and after you get hooked on Skyline, then you can move on to GOETTA...now that's a fine treat!
What's your favorite grocery store stock and why?
My favorite used to be the Boston Market brand - does anyone know if they still make it?
Best Banana Cream Pie in LA??
Will be in LA next week - and I'm more of a Coconut Cream Pie fan. Any suggestions?
Merci
Yays and nays from Trader Joe's, lately [OLD]
Hi Ruth,
Just curious, what do you use the spreads for? Also, I just discovered Terra Brand - parsnip chips. The are delicious and very high in fiber. Not sure whether TJ's carries, but IMHO worth a try.

As mentioned above, when you combine the Spinach Artichoke Dip with the brown rice you'll have a delicious side dish!

We like the Pinjur Sauce warmed up and dolloped on baked salmon.

Wipe away that shame - we all need time-savers on busy days. BTW-I invented a "cheater" dish using that pre-cooked brown rice - just add a container of spinach/artichoke dip to it, and YUM you have a "pseudo-fancy" side dish in 5 minutes.
Yellow Springs/Beavercreek
Thanks everyone, I'll get a trip report out next week.

Oh yes, we've been to Young's, so we'll have to take our friends there for an afternoon milkshake or sundae. It's a Midwestern icon.

Thanks WG, I have heard good things about HaHa* and we'll probably go there for lunch tomorrow.
*BTW, there is an EXCELLENT novel called The Haha, I highly recommend it!

Thanks for the in-depth tips Nikki, we'll probably opt for Jeet although we are a group of BBQ lovers. We're from Cincinnati, so we are comforted to know that we won't be far from a Graeter's - thanks for the reassurance.
If you ever need Cincy advice don't hesitate to ask.
Merci,

Hi,
Heading up to Yellow Springs area for a B&B weekend - already have our Winds rez for Sat & Sun, and need a place for Friday night. Prefer non-chain casual food in Beavercreek, Fairborn, or Springfield. Would consider: BBQ, Pizza, Thai, Indian, traditional Italian or Lebanese.
Thanks in adavance!
