Las Vegas Buffets?
I was just in Vegas this past weekend. I have to agree that the Paris buffet was just not as good as it has been. Really liked the buffet at M Resort
Lechoneras in Orlando or Kissimmee?
There used to be a place in winter haven that would have whole roast pig on Saturdays. The only other place I know of are the Chinese restaurants and the Asian Supermarket on
Colonial that has whole pig (crispy pork), chinese char shu (bbq pork), ducks, and chicken.
Key Largo - 3 Lunches and 2 Dinners
My favorite restaurant in the Keys is Bentley's in Islamorada, that is where I would go. I went to Alabama Jack's last year and was disappointed in the food. I haven't been to the Green Turtle in 2 years, but I didn't like it either.
Florida Keys, Great Local Joints
My favorite place in Islamorada is Bentley's. AWESOME food.
is there german food in florida???
whew.....I thought it was my imagination. I ate there about two years ago and I have to say I thought the food was really "gross". I know this sounds harsh, but after reading all of the positive reviews I too was very excited about having some really great german food. After eating there, it really made me wonder what people considered "good" to be because I had grown up in Cleveland with german/hungarian "aunts" that always cooked for us and my dinner was nothing like what I had grown up with. I know that some will say that I have no idea what "good" is, but my parents owned restaurants and a catering service and I do know what "aweful" is.
Cantonese-style pan-fried noodles in Orlando?
Ming's Bistro has very very good pan fried noodles. I don't think I have ever ordered anything I didn't like. I always get the beef w/ baby bok choy over pan fried noodles. Their salt baked shrimp is very tasty as is all of their roasted meat. (love the crispy pig and the honey pork.) The dim sum is the best in Orlando.
Chinese Cuisine - Authentic Experience in Orlando or Melbourne: Help Me Find It?
I have been to both Ming's Bistro and Tasty Wok. I prefer Ming's because of their variety.
All of their BBQ meats are very good. I have my co-workers hooked on the honey pork with white rice, but their roast pig with the crispy skin is very good as is their duck. The salt & pepper shrimp is very good and I have had the roast pork casserole which I had them use the honey pork, very yummy. The pan fried noodles with beef is very good . I also like the yeung chow fried rice. I don't think I have ever had anything there I didn't like. The dim sum is delicious. Most importantly the food is always piping hot! OH by the way....I don't think they even serve egg rolls or "Americanized" chinese food.
Best Burger in Ft. Lauderdale?
I went to Le Tub last weekend, it was very crowded and the wait for food was 90 minutes, but we still had a great time. From the parking lot to the bar the staff was very nice and entertaining and upfront about how long the wait was. I also loved that it was on the water. Would I say it was the best burger ever? Not really, but it was HUGE! I only ate half. The fries were good too.
CMH - ONE good Mexican Resto?
Sorry to hear that Mazatlan is n't good anymore. I used to love their food.
I know there is a place downtown. It isn't Mexican, but I thought the food was delicious- El Arapazo
N.W. Columbus with kids
Next time try Pig Iron BBQ or Old Bag of Nails, Red Robin, and Hoggy's
Downtown Cleveland Lunch
If you want NY style chinese dim sum go to Li Wah Restaurant in the Asia Plaza.
Ohio Farmer's Markets South of Columbus?
Go to Smith's Farm Market at 3341 Winchester Pike Columbus, OH. The baked pies are delicious! and you can get the best sweet corn. There are farm markets everywhere, but I don't really know anything about any of them.
CLEVELAND ROCKS!
You know it's funny how I always read that people want to know about Mexican Restaurants or BBQ, but I think if you are in Cleveland you should try food that you might not normally find in all cities unless you go to Chicago or New York. I think you can get some of the best Corned beef sandwichs you have ever had downtown at Slyman's. Or what about some great european sausage on fresh rolls down at the westside market. And if you have the opportunity I would go and eat some of the european restaurants in the area.
CMH - ONE good Mexican Resto?
There is a place out in Pickerington that I thought had great Mexian food called Mazatlan. I haven't been there in a few years. If anyone has been there lately please let me know so that I can visit when I go back to Ohio.
good thai food in cbus?
I live in Orlando, Florida now and I haven't been to Thai Orchid in many years, but it used to be my favorite place to go. It was always a toss up between Siam Restaurant and Thai Orchid for the "BEST" General Tso Chicken. Although you can find this dish almost anywhere now, for me it was a destination place to go for GREAT Thai food. When my sister and I first started going to Thai Orchid over 25 years ago the place was run by a couple and it was a walk up takeout place with a few booths. As the business grew they remodeled and it became an upscale restaurant, There never was a dish that did not taste incredible and I used to love when they would bring hot jasmine rice to your table as you needed it. Hot fresh rice makes a difference in the taste of the food. I am going to visit Columbus in the next few weeks and I think I am going to put this on my destinations list.
Best Pizza in Lakeland?
I don't know about Lakeland, but Auberdale is not too far away and the Pizza Connection has the best pizza in the area if you like a thin crust.
What Florida fish are best to eat?,the best way to cook each?
For anyone who wants to have great fish the first thing you have to remember is it MUST be fresh. There is no comparison between fresh and frozen fish, any kind of fish. We fish all the time and we rarely keep fish to eat because if we aren't going to eat it that night it isn't worth keeping. I have to say my favorite fish to eat is Snook, Triple Tail and Spanish Mackeral. If you ever get the chance to try Snook or Triple Tail you are in for a treat. You can't just go buy it usually you have to catch it or go to a restaurant that has it as a special. When we catch a snook we take it to a restaurant near my sister's house and they will cook up half the fish in 3 different ways. Talk about eating until you are stuffed. I love Mackeral too, but I like it skin and all and it has a very oily fish taste. I grew up eating it broiled and it is so yummy. Well that is my favorite fish opinion.
Where do the locals eat in Florida Keys?
I guess it depends on what your definition of good is? Were the crab legs good "YES", so was the poached salmon and raw oysters. I would have to say some things were really worth going for and some things were just average. If you get to eat great seafood all the time I am not sure how impressed you would be. If you eat at a chain like red lobster you will think it is "awesome"
Where do the locals eat in Florida Keys?
My favorite place in the keys is in Islamorada. It is called Bentley's. Try the "dolphin in the weeds" or the oysters upside down. If you want all the seafood you can eat try Whale Harbor in Islamorada.
Orlando 1st timer- review these choices & add pls
I hope you have a great time at Disney. Just a word of warning. You will probably spend more than your budget for lunch and dinner. Orlando is a tourist area and they have great places to eat, but a lot of the locals don't eat around Disney. I really like Tijuana Flats. It is kind of fast food, but very good. There is a place on Sandlake Rd called Jockamos that has great seafood New Orleans style and it is very casual and right next to it is a burger place that people think are good. It really isn't close to Disney though. I like BW3 which is a buffalo wing place and it accomodates kids(this is near Disney) and there is a chinese buffet that is down the street that is pretty good and fairly inexpensive.
I am not sure, but I know I was exhausted when I would go to Disney for the day....have a good time. Oh....if you don't feel like going out, Publix has great subs and fried chicken.
Sandwiches Columbus, Ohio
That is great to hear that they are getting some local recognition. I always like to see businesses who do it right get recognized.
Best burger in Columbus ohio?!!? who's got it?!??
I was just thinkig about Yanni's Greek burger. It is very tasty. I usually get extra feta and gyro sauce for extra dipping. I am going to be in Columbus this weekend. I think I will have to go and have a gyro or burger.
fish camps? FL flavor and fun
We go to Cherry Pockets all the time when ever we have out of town guests. It is out in the middle of the orange groves and is located on Lake Pierce in Lake Wales. Usually we will get a bucket of oysters (1/2 raw and 1/2 steamed with garlic butter.) For dinner the blackened grouper over dirty rice with parmesean seafood medley(shrimp, scallops and krab). You have to get a piece of the carrot cake. It is the best!
Best ribs in Orlando
Peeble's BBQ in Auberndale, you add the sauce afterwards. The atmosphere is a true rib shack.
Greek Food in Tarpon Springs
I was wondering if there were markets where that I could get greek spices and cheeses. I looked in the stores on Dodecanese Blvd, but it was all sponges and tshirts. I guess I will have to try to get back to Tarpon Springs to get the cheese to make Saganaki.
Authentic Chinese and Yum-cha/Dim-sum in South Florida?
I have only been to Tropical, not Mr Chu's. I like South Garden better because the food is hot. Nothing is more annoying than to eat food that is suppose to be hot and it is barely warm.
Soup Season
I made this yesterday and it was very good. I got it from our local supermarket recipe card
Chicken Risotto Soup
Ingredients
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
8 ounces trinity mix (fresh diced onions, bell peppers, celery)
8 ounces sliced baby portabella mushrooms (rinsed)
1/2 teaspoon pepper
5 fresh garlic cloves
3 ounces fresh spinach leaves (1 1/2 cups)
1/3 cup long grain white rice
1 (32-ounce) box chicken broth
3/4 cup half-and-half
1/3 cup white wine
10 ounces cooked chicken (or turkey)
1/4 cup water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Steps
1. Preheat large saucepan on medium-high 2–3 minutes. Place olive oil in pan; swirl to coat. Add trinity mix, mushrooms, and pepper. Crush garlic into pan using garlic press. Use knife to remove garlic from bottom of press. Cook 3–4 minutes, stirring often, until vegetables begin to brown. Meanwhile, chop spinach coarsely.
2. Stir in rice and spinach. Cook 1–2 minutes, stirring often, until spinach wilts. Stir in broth, half-and-half, and wine (in that order); bring to boil.
3. Reduce to medium and cook 15–17 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender. Meanwhile, cut chicken into bite-size pieces; set aside.
4. Combine water and cornstarch in small bowl until well blended. Stir chicken into soup. Slowly add cornstarch mixture, stirring continuously, until blended and soup begins to thicken. Cook 2–3 more minutes, stirring occasionally, to heat chicken and blend flavors. Serve.

Country Style Ribs and a Slow-Cooker - Recipes
You can season the country ribs with garlic salt nd pepper overnight and then throw it in the crockpot with sauerkrautt on top. Pour a half can of chicken broth over it and leave it cooking for 6-8 hours. Serve with mash potatoes. Pretty simple and tastes good.
