When I was a young girl, we couldn't afford meat often. My mom would make stuffed peppers but would stuff them with bread stuffing instead of hamburger mix. Not bad.

Buying stewing hen in St. Charles, MO
Is there any place in St. Charles to buy a stewing hen? It's the only way to make chicken and dumplings. Can't find them anywhere.
Eating local - squirrel
When my husband and I lived in the country we both hunted squirrels, though he would clean them. They are delicious! I would fry them up with onions and mushrooms and a wine, buttermilk gravy. Delicious with mashed potatoes and fresh green beans.

Ditto on the pumpkin pie and hot and sour soup. Have had many soup recipes and they don't quite hit the mark. I find canned pumpkin superior to making from fresh.

Have you ever played a food trick on someone?
My husband and I used to take Thanksgiving dinner out to my parents to cook there. My husband shot a quail. He hid the turkey and put the quail in the roasting pan. He told my dad, "Look at the size of the turkey I got this year, He took off the lid anf there was this tiny little bird. Funny!

What do you do with iron skillets?
For years I treated mine like Dresden china, no soap well seasoned etc. Now that I'm old and lazy I just throw them in the dishwasher. Does this make me a bad person? Will I be drummed off the boards?
Tipping before or after added tax?
When we go to a restaurant, I always tip on the whole amount. My friend says you should tip only for the food, not the tax. Which is correct?
Pork Chops-Bone-In or Boneless?
Boneless pork chops are more expensive but I much prefer the bone-in. The meat close to the bone is so flavorful plus I like to gnaw on the bone to get the goodies off them. Any preferences?
