Mazza Garden Ajax

I had a birthday dinner recently at Mazza Garden in Ajax and had a great time. The food is authentic middle eastern (with a Lebanese emphasis) and is fresh and delicious. There were four of us (including one vegetarian) and the waiter suggested we get the prix fixe menu which was around $20 per person and had something like 10 vegetarian dishes and a few meat dishes. The tabletop was literally filled with food! So many different dishes, some new (the middle eastern equivalent of steak tartare was fabulous) and some I have tried before. All in all it is tremendous value for a great meal.
On the weekend they have an entertainer and a belly dancer which usually starts at 10pm. They also have shisha pipes.

NEW CONSOLIDATED Thread: Best Chicken Wings in GTA

If you like smoked wings (or haven't tried them) my vote is for Highway 61, and Big Bone BBQ a close second.
Otherwise my vote is for Duff''s.

Big Bone BBQ in Vaughan fantastic smoked ribs and wings

I am a big fan of smoked bbq and recently tried Big Bone BBQ at Keele/Major Mac in Vaughan. Some of the best smoked ribs I have ever tasted, and the smoked wings are delicious. I am always on the lookout for new bbq places to try and I was not dissapointed.

Southern Rub Smokehouse

I am a big fan of bbq and smoked ribs in particular and I really enjoy Southern Rub. I usually get the ribs with no sauce and get the Carolina mustard sauce on the side.

Looking for smoked pancetta in Toronto area

I want to make a tomato sauce I had in Rome, all'amitriciana, and I think they used smoked pancetta as it had a real smoky flavour. Tonight I'll try double smoked bacon instead.

Toronto's best "Guy Place" Dining experience sought

Harbour 60 is rudely overpriced and mediocre at best I would avoid it at all $12 for a bottle of Coors Lite, and in true upscale-steakhouse gouging fashion charges you extra for sides. Bardi's on York Street is old-school and will not dissapoint, also the Keg on York St has a more upscale interior than most Kegs, and you will pay less than half than what you would at H60 or Ruth's Chris or any other of the overpriced expense account places.

Suggestions for a good Indian buffet?

Chef of India was just awful. I tried the buffet on two seperate occasions and it was one of the worst meals I have ever had, it is not fit for a dog to eat.
For lunch buffets, I highly recommend:
Bombay Palace - good ambiance, great food and service
Dhaba, King West - ditto, but it is a bit cramped for space
Khama - good food, spacious

For al a carte, I really like Khama Sutra on Bayview, food is fantastic, there is no buffet, ambiance is upscale but not snooty, prices are reasonable and they have a patio.
