Von Trapp Lodge
Hi,
My wife and I are thinking of spending the night at the lodge and having dinner etc. I've read some good reviews but am just curious if anyone has stayed/eaten here.
Thanks.
Searching for Good Eats in the Manchester VT area
Beware that Candalero's is now Gringo Jack's. I would stay as far away as possible. You should check out The New American Grill in Londonderry it's pretty close to the Mountain. Good comfort food with some nice creative specials and very reasonable. They also have a decent beer selection.

I can't remember the name of this small breakfast place in Boston.
Hi all, my wife and I ate breakfast at this place that only had one table and was tiny. It was on a sidestreet in a boston neighborhood kind of in the vicinity of Flash's bar. This was about 2 years ago. Just wondering if it is still there and if anyone knows the name.
Thanks in advance.
Where must I eat (preferably locally produced and/or organic) in southern VT and NH?
If you don't mind driving and seeing some of the most beautiful scenery in southern VT I highly suggest you drive out to Middletown Springs and visit "Sissy's Kitchen". She was the Chef/owner of the Dorset Inn, now she has a great little bakery/cafe. We were there last week and it was awesome!!! A lot of local ingredients, and the prices are very reasonable. It is truly a Vermont experience.
"Consider Bardwell" Farm in Pawlet makes very nice goat cheese, you could tie that into your trip as well it's right on the way.
Manchester Village Recommendations
For fine dining I would suggest driving 6 miles to Dorset to the Inn at West View Farm.
In Manchester The Little Rooster is your best bet for breakfast their lunch is good as well. Bistro Henry is a good place for dinner, check the newsguide he usually has some special menus during this time of year.
Good luck.
Vermont: So you think your Grandma can cook...
Check out "Sissy's Kitchen " in Middletown Springs. She was the owner/chef of the Dorset Inn for the past 20 something years. Really good "comfort food"!!!
Fine dining and other good eats in Chicago
Hello,
My wife and I are taking a trip to Chicago next month for 3 days. We are looking for some fine dining places for dinner that are not super expensive. We are looking for some places that aren't run by "super chefs" as in Trotters, Alinea, and Tru. We don't really want to pay 400-500$ for dinner. We will be staying at the Palmer Hilton. Also any good lunch recs, bakeries, dim-sum, and street food etc. would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Greg
Caterers in Southern VT
He actually has a broad variety of dishes and cuisines. He catered our wedding of around 100pp a few years ago and people raved. Usually at weddings the food sucks but people couldn't get over how good it was. His wife also made are cake which was amazing.
Hadley Mass
Hi all.
Heading to Trader Joes in Hadley and looking for any lunch recs in the area.
Thanks.

Check out Bistro Henry. Fantastic Job!! Reasonable pricing, very professional.
To me Thyme Tables is a little pricey and the quality isn't that great.
Manchester, VT
I'd stay away from Candaleros mediocre food at best. Up for breakfast is good but is pretty expensive and you don't get hashbrowns, you have to order them seperately. The Rooster is always good, get there early if it's the weekend. The Sushi Boat has really nice sushi, you should check them out. Al Ducci's is great, as is Bistro Henry.
Have fun!!
Dim Sum in Boston
Hi There...

Thanks.
Lunch spots in Bennington, VT
Isabella's is pretty tasty, funky. All Days and Onions is pretty good also and very consistent.
Bistro Henry, Manchester, VT sucks!
Justin sorry to hear you had a bad experience. My wife and I live in the area and really enjoy eating at Bistro Henry. We've never had a bad meal. I feel the prices at Henry are comparable to the rest of the Manchester area. Maybe even a little cheaper than some of the other establishments in town, and the food much better than most of the other restaurants. It seems that if your such a sophisticated gastronomique that you would know that you have to pay for the Pellegrino. As for the steak au poivre I have never had it here, yet I would guess that it would be peppery because that's what steak au poivre is. Everytime we have eaten here the service has been fine. MLK weekend is a very busy time for the area so I could understand how service could be a little slower. The McDonald's in town is great! The service is a little slow but the prices are cheap, and the fries are always crispy!
One dinner in/near Manchester, VT: The Reluctant Panther or The Dorset Inn?
I would HIGHLY recommend the Inn at West View Farm in Dorset. It's right up the road from the Dorset Inn. Great Food and service!!!

Del Ray area and Miami
Howdy...
Here's a real brain burner for all you folks. We will be in the Del Ray area and are looking for some local southern joints to eat in for lunch. As far as dinner looking for some nice restaurants not so interested in big name chefs but good local food, nice wine list, good service. Also visiting Miami for a night and taloolu's(sorry about the spelling) seems to pop up a lot. How about some good local joints for lunch. Thanks for all your help.

Napa Area
My wife and I are going to be on our honeymoon out in Napa for five days and though we are doing the "fine dining" restaurants, we are looking for some relatively inexpensive yet good places to eat. Were very flexible on cuisines.
Can anyone recommend grocery/specialty stores to shop for snacks etc.
Thanks so much!!
