Morning all-
Were going to be in this weekend for the willis tower climb, staying at hotel monaco.
We'll have our 9 yr old daughter, who is a seasoned pro in dining and does not need a kids menu-
Hoping to find some good options within a 20 min walk or so-
On the radar so far Paris Club and GT fish-would love an italian or steak option-
Thanks

Pre show dinner Horseshoe

Afternoon All-
Will be heading in to town for a show at the Horseshoe on Saturday night-any rec's for 2 guys within a decent walk of the Hilton garden on John and/ or the Horseshoe on Queen-
Ideally would be with dining in the bar area-
Looking for an alternative to Terroni or even the Keg on York where we usually end up
cheers

Nashville Fri/Sat with an 8yr old

So were back!
We had a fantastic trip to Nashville and Memphis
The Opryland hotel was expectedly over the top, but our daughter got a kick out of it-the indoor gardens etc are really well done-
Our first stop was for lunch-we had heard some interesting reviews of TAVERN, and it was great-a beautiful day, they had the large patio doors open-We really enjoyed the service and food-its really interesting design wise too
For dinner we had originally booked at Old Hickory within the resort-but changed our reservation to Ravello-also within Opryland-it was very good, and their patio setting is very nice

The next day we headed downtown to check out the sites, we decided on lunch at Rippy's as we wanted to hear some live music and enjoy some bbq-Great atmosphere and lots of fun
That night we headed to City House, which lived up to the reviews, great setting, interesting dishes and great cocktails too-try the Dark and Stormy! The room had great energy-but at no time did we find it loud in anyway, we were seated in the upper area, so maybe this is why..

We headed to Memphis the next am-as we had bought tix for the 2pm Graceland tour-which was great-the immediate area around Graceland is in pretty rough shape-lots of closed business and really no good options for food-definitely eat prior to heading to the area.

We checked into the Peabody-and had some snacks in the lobby-for dinner we walked over to the Majestic Grill on South Main which was a reccomendation from the concierge
The Majestic is a historic movie theater converted to a nice mid-upscale restaurant-pretty extensive menu-nothing out of the ordinary, but steaks were great, as was the very personable server-they do have a kids menu-but were also willing to do 1/2 orders of anything on the regular menu
Our last lunch was at Blues City Cafe on Beale for Ribs, which was a recommendation from our server at Majestic-ribs were great and a nice way to end the trip
All in all a great trip! Happy to answer any questions-
Cheers and thanks

Nashville Fri/Sat with an 8yr old

Hey All
Will be visiting Nashville Friday and Saturday with wife and 8 yr old daughter (very used to dining in any type of restaurant!)
Were staying at Opryland, but would like to eat at least 1 dinner and all lunches away from the resort-
Were fine with all price points, likely mid-upscale price for dinners, as long as its cool with kids-a kids menu is not needed-we'll be heading to Memphis on Sunday (yes to see Graceland) and staying at the Peabody
Any tips would be appreciated
Cheers!

Lucille's NDG (old O' Bistro location)

We had a great dinner at Lucille's-we had an 8:30 reservation-waited about 15 minutes at the bar-it was packed but a great atmosphere-good mix of young and older folks

After 10 they have 1$ per oyster, malpeques but very fresh and decent sized-out table had 2 orders of 12 as appetizers-
2 of us had the Lobster rolls(2 per) order-they were the best I have had outside of maine-2 others had Burgers and got thumbs up from both,
Would definately go back

New or good near the airport?

Hello All-
Making our annual trip for a trade show near pearson-the food selection is quite dismal-anything new in the area(within 10-15 mins drive)
We usually hit Via Allegro, Ginko and usually one of the chains such as Keg or Canyon Creek-

Good choice, aside from the great seafood-the steak-Frites are really good

New ideas for Saturday night

Afternoon All
Will be back in town this week on business, staying at the Hilton Garden on Peter Street
I have 2 days solo which I will likely hit my old haunts of eating at the bar at JK wine bar and Starfish
Saturday evening 2 friends are joining me to see a late show (10 pm start)at the Horseshoe(Queen/Spadina)
In the past we have done Terroni,KI, The Keg, Rivoli etc..Anything new in walkable distance from the hotel or the Horsehoe that I should check out for that evening-if they take reservations it would be even better.
Can be mid-to mid high price wise-and cuisine is pretty open as well, except Indian or similar spiced foods.
Thanks all

NYC for wife's 40th-dinners & cocktails

Thanks-Here's an update
Grammercy Tavern is closed on the 2nd, so we have a reservation for 7:30pm at Scarpetta on the 2nd and will do GT on the 3rd-I hope-they only take reservations 28 days in advance, which will be Sunday.
By the way-the only time on open table was 6pm whch i booked, then called the restaurant 10 minutes later and they changed it to 7:30 no problem.
So any good spots for a drink before or after Scarpetta? Either in the area or on the way to London NYC
cheers

NYC for wife's 40th-dinners & cocktails

Hi Everyone
Visiting from Montreal for my wife's 40th right on Jan2nd for 2 nights.

We basically have 2 dinners, 2 lunches and some cocktail time

For dinners one for sure will be Grammercy Tavern, the second night was going to be Italian or Sushi-
For italian I was considering Babbo, however I am getting a little concerned by some of the loud and rushed comments...a good atmosphere is important, but not looking to speak over the noise
Should we give momofuku a go?
.
Home base will likely be the London NYC or Grammercy Park Hotel.

Would love some recs for dinner 2 and also some lunch and cocktail places.

Many thanks and cheers
