Kitchen view tables?

The kitchen view was nice, similar to other kitchen view seats that we've had, such as at Hearth. It's always fun watching the chefs do their work. Yesterday NYC got hit with a major storm, so the restaurant was not exactly jam-packed (though not empty). The kitchen, accordingly, was not particularly busy.

The kitchen view mainly whetted our appetites for dishes we hadn't ordered, making us more likely to come back again :-).

Kitchen view tables?

Thanks for all the replies. We tried Aldea. It was excellent. Portuguese cooking with avant-garde touches, rich flavors and clever presentations. Very nice service, interesting wine list heavily tilted towards Portugal and Spain.

Kitchen view tables?

I'm interested in taking my wife to a place with great food that has reservable seats overlooking the kitchen - like Hearth in the East Village? Anyone know of any others?

Bouchet, Cagna, Table de Joel Robuchon, Violon d'Ingres

I'm trying to choose among these for our anniversary dinner in Paris. Any favorites or non-favorites among them?

Paris: No cheese course?

I have been researching restaurants in Paris - generally of the Michelin one or two star variety - and have found that a few do not seem to offer cheese between the main course and dessert. For example, La Table de Joel Robuchon and Le Restaurant (at L'Hotel). Is this true? Are there other fine restaurants in Paris that don't offer cheese? (We like cheese. The lack of a cheese course would be a bummer.)

Thanks.

Paris: top food, relaxed atmosphere?

My wife and I are going out for dinner in early September for our 15th anniversary. We would like to reserve at a place with absolutely tip-top French cuisine, preferably more classic and traditional, where you're paying for the great food and not fancy decor or stuffy atmosphere. Someone has suggested La Table de Joel Robuchon. Any other recommendations please? Thanks!

Falafel

Just had my first one. I was a fan of Rainbow in Union Square, Alfanoose downtown, and Jerusalem Falafel on the upper upper west side. This one tops 'em all. It's a falafel poem. It was so good that I had another one, even though I wasn't hungry anymore.
