what would you like to see open in silver lake/echo park?

Can't seem to find the right link. I think I read it on la.eater.com. The owner of Bigfoot Lodge was supposed to open up something...and then some guy who owns a Tiki Bar was supposed to open something (but not a Tiki Bar on account of the distance to Tiki Ti)...

Sorry I can't be of more help.

That would be nice to have within walking distance.

I know nothing about it other than having walked past it, but next to where 826LA is (where Sea Level used to be) they are supposed to be working on a coffee shop/book store...

Anyone know what's going into this place? It says something like "Local Eats"...before they put up paper covering on the windows I think I saw deli cases...

Its next to the old bar that is also being re-done, from what I've read.

(Its next to the Silversun strip mall where there used to be an "antiques" store with the tractor on the roof).

Two Boots Pizza?

I remember reading lots about Two Boots Pizza from Brooklyn going to open up on Sunset, in Echo Park, next to The Echo...that storefront apparently has been under construction for some time...but the thing is that now it looks abandoned, and the other day, walking past it I noticed some framing up, some frontage set up to pour some concrete, and "For Lease" signs on the windows...is Two Boots dead? Was it ever "alive"? Anyone know anything about this?

Taco trucks... new law have any effect?

The Taco Zone truck on Alvarado near Sunset was not parked on Alvarado as usual but inside Von's parking lot on Friday...same spot, but on the other side of the chain-link fence...first time I've seen it there.

Las Vegas - Thanksgiving Ideas

Following Budser1228's recommendation from a different post, I found the link to the Las Vegas' Review Journal's Thanksgiving Restaurant List.

McDonald's testing Angus burgers in Los Angeles

Maybe off topic, but I recently tried the Angus Burgers at Carl's Juniors and HATED them. Is this the new trend?

Also, kind of strange subject matter (McDonalds) or Chowhound...

Any Argentinean gems I don't know about?

I do love the Mercado Buenos Aires (didn't know the restaurant had a different name). Whenever I walk in there, I feel like I'm back in Buenos Aires...complete with the serve staff ignoring me and chatting amongst themselves or watching a futbol (soccer) game on the tube while people line up at the deli counter...memories!

Recommendation on Israeli food restaurant in San Fernando Valley

Tempo in Encino (on Ventura).

Pita Kitchen in Sherman Oaks (on Van Nuys).

California Pita Kitchen (not sure if that's the name) in Woodland Hills in the strip mall with Jerry's and Vons.

The only somewhat fancy one is Tempo.

Great. Thanks. Though the list that RicRios provided is somewhat outdated...if I remember correctly, Obelisco in Woodland Hills has been closed for quite some time.

Anyone heard anything about that new "Charcoal" place? I think they're opening one across from the Beverly Center (though I could be wrong on the location).

There's the usual:

Gaucho Grill

Lala's

Mercado Buenos Aires

Uno (in Woodland Hills)

Spain (oddly enough, menu is half Argentinean - Echo Park)

Anything else?

I've read about the new "concept" by the Gaucho Grill folks...called "Charcoal"...but don't know if any of them have opened yet...

Anything I may have missed in Greater Los Angeles?

Jayburger...anyone know its fate?

I was always under the assumption that Jayburger would be back...since they built that other building around the stand and spared that little place...too bad. It is missed.

Jayburger...anyone know its fate?

Its been closed for ages now...and the building that was being erected around it is finished...but last time I drove past it, the Jayburger stand still stood empty...I miss it...anyone know if it will ever come back to life?

Located on corner of Santa Monica and Virgil...across from Little Temple.
