Saturday breakfast in Eastern Market
I know there is Tunnicliff's Tavern, but where else in the Eastern Market area can you get breakfast on a Sat.? I remember hearing about some popular place, where there is always a line and they have great pancakes. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks!

I like Polly's, but it just smells and feels like a smokey bar in there. The fireplace is nice, and the food is good (have tried several of the bennies), but I feel like my feet are sticking to the floor and there is a coating of smoke and funk everywhere. It feels very dirty to me. BUT- that's the only place I have seen such an assortment of benedicts.
Favorite Thai restaurants in D.C., nothern Virginia?
I live very close to Thai Xing, and have had the food twice. Both times it was very good, but MAN it takes FOREVER. The last time we tried to eat there, we called in the order at around 7pm, and were told to call back in about an hour to see if it was ready. So we called at 8pm, and he said it would be a little bit longer. So we called at 8:30pm, and he said it would be another HOUR. I cancelled the order. It's good food, but it ain't THAT good.

I am afraid to ask, but what's so bad about Hollandaise sauce(besides the loads of butter and fat)?

Veg-friendly japanese?
I know that Akasaka in Alexandria has tofu teriyaki. Their miso soup has fish stock. We have found that Pauli Moto's out in Tyson's Corner (in the mall) has alot of veggie stuff. Their agedashi tofu is safe, as is their miso. They also have several interesting grilled veggies, like Japanese potato and asparagus, that you don't see anywhere else. Of course there is all the veggie sushi you can get. I, too, am constantly on the lookout for different Japanese veggie food, so Pauli Moto's was a nice surprise. You can google them and get the menu.
