What do folks think of Dona Engracia? I have some anejo - yet to open it. I liked it at the tasting.

I'm interested in the replies. There are good reviews on Trip Advisor for Gostoso Restaurante. Does anyone have any experience with it?

restaurants in columbus german village?

On the edge of German Village and one of the best places in Columbus is Barcelona Restaurant http://www.barcelonacolumbus.com/ - not Spanish especially but does have some good tapas. BEAUTIFUL patio in warm months. Another GV choice would be G. Michaels http://www.gmichaelsbistro.com right in the heart of German Village on Third Street. Let us know your choices!!

Eddie Merlot’s

I want to know, also. We just got a mailing from them for the Columbus location.

stone house market (leicester/asheville, nc)

We were just there this last Sunday - they are now open on Sundays from 1:00 - 4:00. We really enjoyed the experience! Loved the smallness. Here's link to additional pictures: http://tinyurl.com/4uoajp

Vodka - your choice in a cosmo?

Thanks! No problems with my other ingredients, My recipe is:

1 part Roses Sweetened Lime Juice
1 part Triple Sec
2 parts vodka
3 parts cranberry juice
1/2 or 1 lime squeezed

I have looked at many recipes and this is the one we've settled on. I'm sure others have their favorite combination.

Vodka - your choice in a cosmo?

Which vodka is your choice when you make a cosmo? I have been using Tanqueray. Perhaps I could have just as good a drink with a less expensive vodka.

Lunch near Columbus Ohio Airport?

Yikes!! With the demise of Skybus, what now?

Lunch near Columbus Ohio Airport?

Be sure to let us know where you go and your experience. While there are "chains" in Easton some are of the regional type or very limeted in number. For example, Restaurant Hama is an outgrowth of one in Venice, CA. Most of the other chains are ones that you don't find on every corner.

Lunch near Columbus Ohio Airport?

Suggest you check out the large upscale shopping center that is probably right on your way from the airport to the highway to Cleveland - Easton Town Center http://www.eastontowncenter.com/ - lots of places to eat there - great shopping also,

Asheville suggestions for end of April?

We were at LTC in early November, 2007, and loved it - has it changed since then?

Asheville suggestions for end of April?

I know there are many good places to eat in Asheville. Next month we plan to be there for four nights and are planning to eat at La Catarina Trattoria (for sure, we loved it the last time we were there!) and The Market Place (looks interesting for early dining). Any hounds have any suggestions?

Wassail recipe?

Here's what we ended up with:

CHRISTMAS WASSAIL
from COOKS.COM

2 qt. cider
1 pt. cranberry juice
3/4 c. sugar
2 sticks cinnamon
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 orange
Whole cloves
1 c. rum

Stud orange with whole cloves. Put all ingredients into crock pot. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour and then on low for 4-8 hours. Serve warm from crock pot. Makes 12 cups. A good hot drink for the holidays.

This was very easy to make and had good reviews - we did add an extra half cup of rum before serving.

Are there any decent wines under $7?

As to OP - it all depends on what you call "decent" but I really like the Frontera - Concha Y Toro wines also - especially the the Carmenere!! A 1.5 litre retails here (Central Ohio) for less than ten dollars.

I am looking for a wassail recipe for a small gathering of six couples. I have looked at various places online but what I've found so far just doesn't "do it for me". Thanks!! TMW

The soup we were served was not as you described at all - perhaps they've gotten the message. The service was fine when we were there. Thanks for the suggestion!!

Chinatown - Fuleen Seafood Restaurant -

We just had a wonderful lunch at Fuleen, 11 Division Street!!! They have a lunch special for $5.50. You pick from 61 choices and tea, rice, soup, plus canned grapefruit sections (for desert). I had shrimp with peanuts and garlic sauce, my wife had pan fried mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, squid, mushrooms, chicken, vegetables, etc.) We shared. There was enough food for 4 people - My wife ate sensibly but I made a pig of myself and ate my portion and anything my wife did not eat. I needed an extra bowl of rice - no charge. Total bill was $11.00 plus .90 tax. Everything was fresh, correctly seasoned, just excellent! In many places you might pay twice as much for the quality and quantity and still think you were getting a good deal. We were the only non-Asians in the place. I would go back often if I lived in NY,

Two pounds of OKRA, ideas?

Years ago we grew a small amount of okra in the backyard - I would slice it into half inch sections - little wheels - and lightly fry in a little butter or oil and add it to the spaghetti sauce. It was a way of getting a little vegetable into the kids' diet. That might use a little but not 2 pounds.

Seafood in Columbus?

That's too bad! I generally had a good experience there. Been to McC & S in CA and WA, too.

Seafood in Columbus?

For Japanese try Restaurant Hama at Easton - ambiance is on the white bright side but the food is excellent! At Easton McCormick & Schmick's is VERY good - it is a chain but they specialize in fish and seafood.
